Reviews
I would say if you intend to walk the coastal path do so in trainers. I always did and I am glad for it. The paths range from flat to sand to rock and sheer edges but they make for stunning views. Lots of stairs so avoid if you find them hard. There is also a flat walk but without the views.
The bus stop up and around the corner got us into tarragona to see the amazing sites and you can book excursions just a short way up from the hotel with easy pick ups etc.
A variety of local supermarkets offer anything you may need in an easy walking distance.
Overall I am very happy with my stay.
On arrival, the shower gel wasn’t even filled, towels were missed during cleaning, and the room itself (first floor with sea view) had a very poor setup, the bed was uncomfortable, with a hole in the mattress and no duvet cover. The mini fridge was empty and reception advised us to buy drinks from outside instead of offering any in-room service, which is not what you’d expect from a 4-star at €150/night.
Food was decent with variety at dinner, and the live cooking stations (wok and grill) were a highlight. However, desserts were consistently disappointing, for example - the tiramisu was inedible and most cakes lacked quality, leaving fruit as the only reliable option. Evening entertainment also needs improvement; some performances fell flat and didn’t add much to the experience.
On the positive side, staff were friendly and helpful, and starters/main dishes were good. But overall, the downsides outweighed the positives. For the price paid, the quality was simply not there. Judging by the glowing Google reviews, maybe we were unlucky with our room or timing but I would think twice before booking again.
This was our very first time visiting Spain—and what a perfect introduction! We chose Salou, and after lots of research and reading glowing reviews, we decided to book our hotel directly (not through an agent). I’m so glad we did—this hotel turned out to be absolutely incredible.
First Impressions & Location
From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the sea views. The hotel is in a quiet yet vibrant area, perfectly located just minutes from the beach, local shops, bars, and restaurants. Having a Bus Plana office nearby was very handy—we picked up a T10 travel card and found it so easy to explore Salou and beyond. A bus stop just up the road made getting around effortless.
Rooms & Housekeeping
Our room on the 3rd floor was spacious, spotless, and comfortable, with two double beds, a mini fridge, safe, and great air conditioning. I highly recommend paying a little extra for those breathtaking sea views—it’s worth it!
A special mention must go to our housekeeper, who greeted us with a smile and a cheerful “hola” every morning. She was an absolute gem and kept everything immaculate.
Breakfast & Dining
Breakfast was a true highlight of our stay. Whether you love pastries, pancakes, freshly made omelettes, cold meats and cheeses, fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals, or hot food options, this buffet had it all. Honestly, it catered to every taste bud imaginable.
Each evening, the restaurant offered a different themed dinner, with endless variety and high quality. Add to that the nightly entertainment by the pool bar area, and it made evenings feel special without even having to leave the hotel.
Pool & Facilities
The pool area was beautiful, with both a large pool and a kiddies’ pool, plus plenty of sunbeds and cabanas. A lifeguard was on duty daily, which was reassuring. The only small downside was that inflatables weren’t allowed in the big pool, and I really wish there had been a designated smoking area—smoking around families and children by the pool wasn’t ideal.
The People Who Made It Special
While the facilities were excellent, what really makes this hotel the BEST is the staff. From reception to housekeeping, to the hard-working restaurant and bar teams—everyone was so welcoming and went above and beyond to make our stay special.
Oh, and a word of warning… the cocktails are deadly! 😅
Final Thoughts
Our first trip to Salou has left us with unforgettable memories, and this hotel played a huge role in that. We’re already talking about booking our next visit. If you’re considering staying here, don’t hesitate—you’ll be delighted.
Despite visiting towards the end of what we assume was a busy summer season, the staff made us feel so welcomed. Every team member we encountered displayed genuine warmth and hospitality. Our sincere thanks go out to everyone, from the friendly and hardworking cleaning staff to the incredible chefs behind the grill, and of course, the receptionists and hosts who continuously made us feel at home. A special mention to Vicky and Jonathan at reception, and Chef Bakari – who are a real asset to the team.
**What we loved:**
- **Outstanding Service:** As mentioned, the entire staff was simply wonderful.
- **Incredible Food:** The cuisine was both varied and consistently delicious. Kudos to the chefs and the restaurant team for their impeccable work.
- **Idyllic Location:** Peaceful and quiet, and with a close proximity to lovely beaches.
**Suggestions for improvement:**
- **Room Acoustics:** A bit of attention here could make the rooms even more comfortable.
- **Toilets:** We suggest providing toilet brushes in all bathrooms, including shared areas. Shower gels did not get refilled but we could have asked the staff however, so that one’s on us!
- **Pool Temperature:** Unfortunately, the pool was way too cold for our liking. Seeing the visitors’ reactions when they climbed into it was hilarious. 10/10
Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and we’re already looking forward to returning. Wishing the team continued success – and once again, thank you for a delightful experience!
Immediately we were greeted and checked in by Vicki who's warm and friendly service continued throughout our holiday, always checking up on us (the same goes for Jonathan).
The food was exceptional, which is so important to me when booking all-inclusive. A brilliant range and variety of dishes for an extremely good price. The staff are equally brilliant with Erika especially ensuring we were always comfortable and looked after. The drinks are also varied and a good strength - I recommend the sangria with every meal!
As a gay couple it can be difficult to travel to other countries as you are unsure of how other guests will treat you, however the staff made sure we were always welcome and we felt very safe in their hands.
The rooms were tidied daily and an excellent size for the price. I highly recommend opting for a sea-view room for the sunset alone. They were clean, modern and contained a good range of amenities.
The entertainment was varied and although some nights were better than others, all the acts were personable and provided an enjoyable evening. A big shout out to the flamenco dancers, they are awesome.
The local area is quiet and the new promenade makes beach walks a must. The sea is clear, clean and a good temperature (we went in September) with respectful beachgoers. The wider area of Salou was not the most welcoming but there really is no need to go there when you have the beauty of Costa Dorada.
Our holiday was a huge and peaceful success, we will certainly be returning if possible. Thank you Best Punta Dorada.
We are a young gay couple (22m & 26m) and we stayed all-inclusive for 6-days.
I recommend this place with all my heart!
The food was excellent, and there were lots of choices every day, along with different themes. Drink prices were reasonable, €3.40 for a half-liter of Estrella, and other drinks at a similar level.
The staff were generally polite and knowledgeable, maybe a little overworked at times.
On the not-so-good side: no real issues. The room was nice but a little tired, with a few niggles, such as a loose tap. We didn't get a great view, but we only intended to sleep there.
Dinner was a little late for British tastes, and so the entertainment started late at 10 p.m., again a bit late for some.
In conclusion, a good hotel with great food and a nice location.
