Reviews
It started at the reservation stage with Maureen, who was unable to apply the same price I saw online. Instead of assisting me directly, she referred me to book elsewhere, resulting in the hotel losing €50–60 in revenue. Wouldn’t it have been better to offer a discount and gain a loyal customer?
Then came Charlotte at reception, who mishandled my special request for flowers and room decoration. I clearly asked for it to be arranged at 18:00, which was the suitable time for me. Instead, it was done at 15:00. Do you work to satisfy your guests or just to finish your shift on time?
Moreover, I paid for room decoration, flowers, champagne, and spa access. Don’t you think I deserved a room upgrade? At international hotels that understand hospitality, there are honeymoon packages that include complimentary upgrades. Even if you don’t offer such packages, based on all the services I purchased, wasn’t an upgrade appropriate? I requested it during the reservation and again at check-in, but it was still not granted.
During check-in, the receptionist asked for a deposit. I offered €100 in cash, but she refused and insisted on a credit card. Excuse me, where is it mentioned that cash isn’t accepted? Who came up with this unique payment policy? Are you planning to accept only Bitcoin next? After a few minutes, she reconsidered and accepted the cash—so why ruin my arrival experience in the first place?
Overall, I found no value for money in this hotel. It’s overrated. For the room rate I paid, I expected extraordinary service, but instead, I got disappointment. Even the room itself had the worst shower experience—just a high and wide bathtub with no easy access. My wife and I both struggled and even got hurt trying to use it. We are a young couple; I can’t imagine how older guests would manage. Or do you only accommodate young couples?
The water also spilled everywhere, making it nearly impossible to shower properly. I could go on about the failures, but I’ll keep it short.
The only beautiful aspect of this hotel was the spa team. A lady named Clara was exceptionally kind and professional. We were 15 minutes late for our appointment, and she generously extended our time by 15 minutes beyond the spa schedule. Because of her, I’m giving you one star—not for the hotel, but for Clara. Otherwise, you deserve zero.
No bide-shower.
The most terrible part was the shower water, it was not hot at all. In colder weather, I felt like I might catch the flu…
The staff was friendly, but when I check-in they didn’t mention how to connect to the WiFi or even provide the password. I had to ask for it myself.
The location is good, but overall, it was a terrible experience. For the price, even the minimum standards weren’t met. There are definitely much better options available.
We stayed just one night but was a positive experience.
Room seaside is a plus!
Breakfast is delicious and with all kind of food.
Restaurant offers tasty seafood and the service is perfect.
We also used the SPA with a pool, jacuzzi, hammam and sauna.
The hammam was not working but the waiter discounted our fee (appreciated).
The hotel is truly stunning in every way. Its location is perfect, you have an opportunity to nip out for a night swim at any point, the beach is just on the other side of the road. Inside, stunning interiors, marble staircase, transparent lift, red carpets and belle époque hall - you might as well be back in 19th century.
The service was impeccable. You must understand that you are in France, therefore avoid coming with attitude that “they must speak English”; in fact, my French is at most quite basic / intermediate, yet on every attempt, I tried to communicate in French and staff tagged along, allowing me to practice the language. Whenever we requested anything, bottle opener, wine glasses, extra hangers - it was delivered and provided immediately.
The room was beautiful, had a large bathroom with a bath, separate toilet, built in wardrobe and a balcony with sea view and city view, despite us not booking a sea view - side view was perfect as it allowed us to see the Mediterranean Sea without the noise from the Promenade. If I had to mention one improvement point, it would be air conditioning, as it is really gentle, so you must remember to shut the balcony to keep the heat out - during the night, it was perfectly fine though and temperature was just perfect.
Now, to tackle the negative reviews:
- spa must be reserved in advance and it is available for an extra fee and you are warned about it at every stage during the booking and at the check in, so any reviews that mention “I was surprised to find out …” - no, you were just not paying attention and it is not the hotel’s fault, it’s yours,
- yes, there are no beach towels available - so what? Take what’s in your room, there are the same towels and while you’re away, they’ll bring the new ones in and then you can swap them - you get the gist.
This was a truly amazing stay and this hotel deserves so much praise - cannot recommend it enough.
