Hôtel Habituel in Paris

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone new to Paris, especially young people traveling alone. It is in a very busy area and can be hard to find off the street. I didn’t really feel safe in the area either, especially when compared to when we stayed in other parts of the city. The rooms are fine, but the street noise comes in very loudly through the windows and makes it very hard to sleep if you’re not used to it.

This hotel is not a 4* hotel.
The.staff are friendly and helpful but the hotel itself is tired and uninviting .
Our room was dirty, in need of deciorating and there were several.issues. Both the main door and the toilet door handles were broken or loose. One of the bedside "tables" was broken and on an angle so nothing could be put on it, the shelving unit was loose and unstable and the hair dryer was broken and only gave out cild air.
Bedding and towels were clean.
The whole hotel, including the bedroom all night, smelt of Indian cooking, not pleasant at all.
Due to this being graded as 4* we were subjected to a higher city tax charge - 1 night cost us €16.90.
Location for both Paris Est and Gard du Gord is excellent, although not a nice part of Paris.
Overpriced hotel and very disappointing.
