Holiday Inn Express-Canal De La Villette, an IHG Hotel

I was highly skeptical of a holiday inn Express in Europe but they are our goto in the US. After staying here, it ended up being one of the best decisions. The pastries at breakfast were fantastic is the reason for the 5 star review. The staff was great. We did need 2 rooms for our party of 4 but that is pretty much how it works in Paris. The rooms are fine.

There are close metro locations but you will need to learn how to use them and how to transfer. There will always be a lot of walking no matter where you stay.

This hotel is great!! Very budget friendly due to being in the 19th arrondisment, but has a great location in proximity to metro and being located in a very cute and charming area (as well as being along the canal). We have stayed here twice now, and plan to again! The staff is all so lovely and helpful (filling up water bottles at the bar, calling a doctor in the middle of the night to help with sickness, proactively refunding part of the payment due to a leak, etc.) Sandra and Miguel in particular were so lovely and helpful. The rooms, pillows/sheets, water temp and pressure, air conditioning, etc. are all great quality, and the included breakfast in the morning is also DELICIOUS. The only thing to note is check in is later in the day (3pm approx), but you can request early check in for a small fee/it is free if you are a IHG member. Highly recommend!!

We stayed here for a weekend break and loved it. The area is served by three metro stations and you can get to central Paris in 20 minutes. There is a cheap well stocked supermarket on the door step and the summer activities for kids on the plage just outside are amazing. There are some great restaurants around the plage but access to the city is very easy. The room was lovely and comfortable, we had a great balcony view and the staff were so helpful and friendly. We loved every minute of our stay and would definitely go back there.

The breakfast was excellent, the location (on the canal!!!) very good.
The 26 sq m room was comfortable for a couple with 1 child. It had a fridge and a safebox.
The area was quiet and safe during the day.

I enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn Express Paris - Canal. The location was very strategic for getting around the city, and the rooms were clean and well-maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. My kids especially enjoyed the lovely playground near to the hotel, which was a great bonus! My only constructive suggestion would be to improve the breakfast options. While the breakfast was good, the selection was somewhat limited. Overall, I had a positive experience and would recommend this hotel, particularly for families with children.

The room was very good, the breakfast was OK, although it was said to be a messy area online, it was actually OK. It was also close to the subway station, so it was convenient to travel.

We've stayed in this hotel many times over the last 10 years or so, and it has become our favorite Parisian home away from home. My mother is there for extended stays a couple of times a year and I usually join her for two or three weeks at a time. The hotel is beautifully situated on a canal in the northeastern part of Paris, which gives it an unexpected waterfront atmosphere, and there are many good cafes and dining options nearby. It's a lively neighborhood but not as hectic as other, more touristy parts of Paris, and it is also very convenient to two metro lines within easy walking distance. The rooms are comfortable, well-appointed, and surprisingly large for a Paris hotel. But what makes this a really special place are the people who work there, from the unfailingly helpful, efficient, and courteous front desk staff, to the people working in the bar and the breakfast room, to those who clean the rooms every day. The front desk and most other staff speak very good English, and do their very best to make guests feel welcome and comfortable, wherever they might be from or whatever language they might speak. A good sign of a well-managed hotel is the longevity of the staff, and we're always pleased to see familiar faces when we return year after year. We count many of them among our friends now, and appreciate their warm welcome whenever we come in the door. If you're looking for a comfortable place to stay in a pleasant neighborhood in Paris, I highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express La Villette!
