Holiday Inn Express-Canal De La Villette, an IHG Hotel

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and it was wonderfull.
Easy to get to from Orly airport by M14 to ' CHATELET' station and there change to M7 in direction to 'LA COURNEUVE 8 MAI 1945' and get off at 'RIQUET'. From here its a short walk to the hotel.
Breakfast was good, room clean including bath room, confortable beds and nice canal view.
Polite and helpfull staff. Got help to buy bus tickets to Beavais airport. Pity I didn't get to know Sandra.
The hotel is near the Science Museum which is a very nice place to visite for children and adults.
If I go back to Paris I will surely stay at this hotel which I recommend.

Absolutely brilliant place to use as a base if you're visiting Paris or even just too enjoy the area around the hotel. We booked as we were visiting Paris for our 30th wedding anniversary and wanted to be based outside of the normal areas and this did not disappoint at all we loved every bit of it!
Flowers for our room as a surprise for my wife were arranged as requested and the recommendation for an evening Seine cruise with a meal on board was completely spot on. It was a gorgeous suggestion and much better than just going on one of the many tourist boats which are fine for sightseeing but I wanted a magical meal and experience that would be remembered and this ticked every box.
The area around the hotel is beautiful with the canal running through and the Metro and bus a very short walk away giving easy access to central Paris.
We were lucky the canal was hosting one of Paris's Plages which made the general atmosphere and vibe of the area even more brilliant than it already was.
Breakfast was really nice, couldn't fault it at all, pay attention to the signs that tell you when is best to have breakfast as it really does work, time it wrong and it will be busier but the staff managed it so well that wasn't an issue, we timed it wrong once but still enjoyed breakfast fine despite it being busy.
It couldn't have been any more perfect, thank you all so much and we hope to come back.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Canal de la Villette in Paris for 2 nights in August 2025, and really enjoyed the stay. I highly recommend this hotel as a budget 3-star hotel. The bathroom is very nice, spacious and clean and I love the canal view from my room’s windows. The complementary hot breakfast buffet was delicious and had a lot of options. The bar was great. They gave us 2 extra single sofa beds. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely return again and again the next time I’m visit Paris, France again.

I was highly skeptical of a holiday inn Express in Europe but they are our goto in the US. After staying here, it ended up being one of the best decisions. The pastries at breakfast were fantastic is the reason for the 5 star review. The staff was great. We did need 2 rooms for our party of 4 but that is pretty much how it works in Paris. The rooms are fine.

There are close metro locations but you will need to learn how to use them and how to transfer. There will always be a lot of walking no matter where you stay.

This hotel is great!! Very budget friendly due to being in the 19th arrondisment, but has a great location in proximity to metro and being located in a very cute and charming area (as well as being along the canal). We have stayed here twice now, and plan to again! The staff is all so lovely and helpful (filling up water bottles at the bar, calling a doctor in the middle of the night to help with sickness, proactively refunding part of the payment due to a leak, etc.) Sandra and Miguel in particular were so lovely and helpful. The rooms, pillows/sheets, water temp and pressure, air conditioning, etc. are all great quality, and the included breakfast in the morning is also DELICIOUS. The only thing to note is check in is later in the day (3pm approx), but you can request early check in for a small fee/it is free if you are a IHG member. Highly recommend!!

We stayed here for a weekend break and loved it. The area is served by three metro stations and you can get to central Paris in 20 minutes. There is a cheap well stocked supermarket on the door step and the summer activities for kids on the plage just outside are amazing. There are some great restaurants around the plage but access to the city is very easy. The room was lovely and comfortable, we had a great balcony view and the staff were so helpful and friendly. We loved every minute of our stay and would definitely go back there.

The breakfast was excellent, the location (on the canal!!!) very good.
The 26 sq m room was comfortable for a couple with 1 child. It had a fridge and a safebox.
The area was quiet and safe during the day.

Hotel well located for the La Villette district, with restaurants nearby along the quays.
