The staff was so easy to communicate with! Appreciate that they speak English, which is so helpful when it’s your first time in a different country. The rooms were nice and we had a great view. We even were able to check in much earlier than 3 PM and were charged $50 to do so. Which is so helpful when you have a red eye flight and arrive at 6:00 AM!

Our room was cleaned daily (THANK YOU!) and we always had fresh towels, a nicely made bed, trash taken out, etc… which is such a great feeling when you are out all day walking the city.

We definitely enjoyed our stay!

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Small shower, with no shower door. Staff were were very friendly and helpful. Location was very good. Many restaurants in the area, with metro access nearby.

Fantastic value hotel with lovely staff. Small but comfy rooms with good quality beds and compact but well designed bathrooms. Clean. And the location is great. Easy access to RER and bus routes to take you to all the major sites across the city.

Downsides: can be noisy at times.
Low rumble from the RER was very audible on the first floor. As was the rain. And the walls are a bit thin. But this is an old building in an old city - most hotels at this price point will have the same issues.

I want to give special recognition to the staff at Hotel Observatoire Luxembourg. We received such great service from them. They were very patient, helpful, and kind with us and our two kids throughout our whole stay. On our last day at the hotel after checkout, our train to the South of France got cancelled and we needed to wait for 7 hours before we could depart again. Instead of waiting at the cold train station for that long, we contacted the hotel and Jasmine at the front desk was very empathetic. She made sure we felt welcome to come back and hang out in the lobby or leave our luggage there before heading back to the train station when it was time, she gave recommendations, and made sure to offer a backup plan. In a moment of stress, she was such a great help. It made us feel very grateful to have booked our Paris stay withHotel Observatoire Luxembourg.

This might be a more detailed review, as the hotel could be a perfect fit for some but not necessarily for everyone. Let’s start with the location – it’s really good! You have a variety of restaurants, the beautiful Luxembourg Park, and plenty of subway and bus stations all around. For those like me who prefer their coffee from Starbucks, there’s one nearby, and there’s even a restaurant inside the hotel, which is quite convenient.

The staff at Hotel Observatoire are genuinely helpful and welcoming. While the hotel doesn’t offer the extensive amenities you might find in an American hotel, the team here goes out of their way to ensure all your needs are met. They are very responsive – any time I had a question or needed to make changes, my emails were answered within 1 to 2 hours by an actual person, not a bot.

Now, a quick note about the elevator – it is tiny, but it’s definitely helpful when it’s working.

On the topic of the rooms, they are very small. I stayed with my mom, and it was fine since we have a close relationship, but I can’t picture staying there with a friend I’m not super close with, especially since the beds are quite close together. If you’re traveling alone, it could be great, but if you’re sharing the space, it’s something to consider.

During our stay, the elevator broke down, and we were on the 5th floor. For some reason – I’m not sure if it’s specific to the hotel or just how things are in France – the elevator couldn’t be fixed over the weekend. This was quite inconvenient, particularly for my mom, who is 70, and going up and down several flights of stairs wasn’t easy for her. The receptionists were kind enough to help with our bags when we left, but it did feel like more could have been done – perhaps repairing the elevator over the weekend or arranging staff to help with luggage.

Would I stay here again? Yes, I enjoyed the location and the staff’s hospitality. However, my mom wouldn’t, given the challenges we faced. So, it’s really up to you to decide if Hotel Observatoire is the right fit for your stay.

Cozy quiet hotel. Convenient location. Within walking distance to the metro. All attractions are nearby. With pleasure, you can take a walk and return in the evening to a cozy room.

The first thing I want to note is the excellent location of the hotel. You can get from Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle Airport by RER B to the Luxembourg stop (5th district), from the stop the hotel is a 1-minute walk away. When we got to the reception at 11 am, a very polite employee asked what language we speak, if we need to put things down or eat. Then she clarified the details of the reservation and gave us the keys to the room and the password for wi-fi, although we officially had a check-in from 15:00. Our room was on the 2nd floor (we took the elevator). Entering it, we found 2 free bottles of water, sweets, tea, coffee, chips and a welcome letter on the nightstand near the bed. The room is small, but all the furniture and appliances are perfectly arranged, so nothing interferes with free movement in the room. Also in the room is a mini-bar, electric kettle, hair dryer. The shower room is very spacious, lots of towels, large bottles of shampoo and shower gel, new soap, body lotion and an electric towel dryer. Bathrobes and disposable slippers were hung in the closet. There are many grocery stores and restaurants around the hotel. When leaving the hotel, we were offered to have breakfast and call a taxi to the airport. I want to sincerely thank the hotel staff for the warm atmosphere and warm welcome.

The staff was absolutely wonderful and kind. They were helpful in helping us navigate Paris and even giving recommendations for where to eat. The rooms were comfy and we had a beautiful garden view. The location is also another reason we loved it here. It is literally around 20-25 min away from most of the main attractions and there are pharmacies as well as shopping and a currency exchange all within walking distance! What a beautiful hotel and wonderful experience we had! I strongly recommend staying here.

+ Location was great, 10 meters from the metro station and walking distance to a lot of the must see places. The gardens are amazing and it's nice to pass there on your way. A very good breakfast, has everything you need to start the day without thinking where to eat or drink. Bed is comfortable, shower is large and great. Staff were great and really helped with anything. Great value for money.
