Amalia Hotel

My daughter and I went over a year ago and I still remember it as part of the best part of our trip. We stayed at the hotel for one night before our cruise. We were thrilled and amazed at the beauty of the hotel, the hospitality of the staff, and the quality and affordability of the food. The proximity to the Acropolis was better than we expected and we shopped and took dozens of pictures on the way there.The breakfast buffet was included in our price and I mean, I’ve had dozens of breakfast buffets (including the Hotel Del in California) and this was hands-down the BEST I’ve ever had! We wished we had included at least a 3 night stay there—truly a hidden gem.

Great Value! Very nice clean hotel with excellent staff at an ideal location in the heart of Athens. A 2min. walk to syntagma square, to the national garden, shopping, and metro.
A recently added roof restaurant and bar has an almost 360 degree view of the city!

Room was kind of outdated. Carpet everywhere. they offered a terrace which we didn’t really use. The service at the bar/restaurant upstairs after a long travel day was bad, took way too long to get food.

The hotel staff itself was very friendly. They were able to call a taxi for us when we were checking out. My recommendation is to book their private transportation option when coming in from ferry terminal or airport as it was only 5 EUR more than finding a taxi post ferry ride on the street.

Walked through the park and ended up at the acropolis — overall manageable walk starting late afternoon / evening as it’s partially shaded. Breakfast was very good — freshly squeezed orange juice was amazing. Target demographic definitely skews older. The complimentary bottle of wine was not that good but our room was ready right at 3pm.

This hotel is conveniently located directly across from the national park and near the Parliament building. We could see the guard changing from our balcony.

We booked two connecting rooms for our family of three. The larger room featured a balcony overlooking the national park, offering a lovely view of the green space.

The hotel provided some amenities, including coffee and tea sachets, small pots of cream, a safety box, toiletries, a mini refrigerator, an electric hot water kettle, bathrobes, lotion, shower gel, and a 2-in-1 conditioner/shampoo.

Breakfast was served in Greek style buffet with high-quality ingredients. While the variety was somewhat limited, Greek breakfast was a good experience including tomato, olives, olive oil and Greek yogurt. Also the fresh orange juice was particularly delicious and refreshing.

We also used the hotel’s laundry service, which was efficient, drop-off before 9 am ensured same-day return of our clothes.

Although the hotel is somewhat aged, the beds were comfortable, and the water pressure was strong, ensuring a pleasant shower. Its prime location allowed us to walk easily to the Acropolis, and plenty of good restaurants are nearby.

The staff at the front desk were consistently friendly and helpful, enhancing our overall experience.

Great location, rooms are clean. Breakfast was always delicious. We had a very early morning checkout for our flight and the front desk offered a breakfast box to take with us. The rooftop bar has beautiful views, but is a little pricey. Also across the street from the national garden.
