Atlantica Beach Resort Kos

We booked this holiday with Tui and I was having high hopes for this hotel as the photos looked great after a recent refurbishment. Pros: - rooms are clean and tidy and overall the hotel is lovely and modern. - pool area and beachfront are great. Cons: - we booked a premium double room and we got two single beds pushed together. when we asked to move rooms they said they had a lot of people coming the Saturday so they were being prioritised. - the lounge bar area has a very funny smell unsure whether it’s a drain issue but not very nice to sit in which enjoying a drink - Food - this put a downer to the holiday as it advertises 2 a la carte restaurant when we got to the Italian, it was a buffet and was told this wasn’t a la carte. The Greek was the only restaurant that’s not a buffet style. Bear in mind you can only visit each restaurant once per stay… imagine if you went for a week you would have to eat the buffet food for breakfast, lunch, dinner, which is mostly the same food. Staff- entertainment and cleaning staff are nice but the bar staff don’t seem friendly and approachable. We are currently here till Tuesday and we have already planned to go out to the town to eat as I don’t want to eat the buffet as it’s very hit and miss and can be lukewarm and the atmosphere has been more enjoyable when we have left the hotel. I will be complaining to TUI as they have oversold this holiday to us.
