Gouves Bay Hotel

Me and my boyfreind have just returned from staying at this hotel. To which it wasn't the best hotel we've stayed in to which thd food was always cold to which you had insects always flying around whilst you are trying to eat and got all the cats sat on the steps watching you whilst you eat. Not a proper variety of poolside snacks either. However the room we stayed in was alright and met our needs. We didnt have any entertainment from the friday until tuesday. So didnt get experience that to which the entertainment staff where very helpful and went out of their way so guests could enjoy their holiday so big thankyou to Memo and his collegue sorry cant remember his name. Bar staff were brilliant especially mario aka tom cruise as he is juggling the cocktailmakers and that. Cleaners where great always made sure our room was clean. It was a nice hotel and we had a nice time

Well, I don't know where to start…
The hotel does not have great reception and the wi-fi is lousy.
Is that food?!
Everything but breakfast is inedible! In a full-service hotel, we were forced several times to have lunch or dinner in nearby restaurants. The menu is not varied, but at least there are always dry potatoes and the same bolognese pasta. The hotel cats are dirty and regularly crawl around on tables and chairs or sleep.
But what was the main problem?!
Bedbugs!!!
The first morning we woke up covered in stings. At first we thought it was a mosquito, but the next morning we noticed more bites, and then the guesswork was over as we found one of our "little friends". We immediately told the reception lady, who argued that we were the first guests in the room we were given and that we must have picked up the bedbugs on the plane. There is also a leather seat on the plane, where it is disinfected after each journey. By the way, we found a hairdryer in the locker that a guest had forgotten. So either they do not clean carefully or the reception lady lied. We were moved to another room and told that the room would be cleaned. We tried to ask the cleaner for a product that would remove the bugs, but the hotel didn't have one. Which suggests that they do NOT exterminate pests, so everyone should be very careful!!!!!
We took our clothes to a nearby launderette, which was visible at reception. The laundry cost 50€, we bought a special detergent which cost 10€. After the receptionist saw that we had returned with our clothes, she only offered to wash our clothes because she knew we had already done so. We didn't enjoy our birthday trip at all because of the pests, and apart from getting "a better room", we didn't receive any compensation. Let's hope we don't bring the bugs home because they are a nuisance and cost a lot of money to eradicate.
