Diogenis Blue Palace

Fantastic stay from start to finish. We were rather worried after reading some of the reviews but really did not need to be! Our room had a lovely modern bathroom with rainfall shower and air con. Plenty of beach and pool sun loungers all cleaned overnight and ready every day. The staff are all so friendly and want you to have a lively holiday. We thought the food was amazing! Beautiful Greek dishes of moussaka, kebabs, roast lamb, fresh fish, always a lovely Greek salad, pasta salad and individual stuff to make own. We found the hot food was hot and the cold food cold! No complaints here. The drinks really aren’t the best but we came round to brandy and Diet Coke by the end of the holiday! Great place if you get a bargain deal like we did. Greek night was not to be missed! Amazing! They also have a singer on a couple of nights. Hire car from the Croco office based in reception was easy to arrange and brilliant service Price check with other self catering etc here first! Such amazing value we cannot believe how fab it was and can’t grumble!

Just come back from our holiday at the Diogenis. We stayed at this hotel last year and due to the location and friendliness of the staff we decided to vacation there again this year and I have to say it didn't disappoint. We checked in late at night and after dropping off our suitcases where taken back to the restaurant where we could have something to eat and a long awaited cappuccino. We had the same rooms as last year which were located outside the hotel just below the Shish Doctor Cocktail Bar. The rooms were clean and tidy and maintained daily. Give a big shout out for Benny the Barman and Ivan who both recognised us from last year and looked after our needs and requirements always with a smile and of course couldn't complete this review without saying a big thank you to Ilias the Executive Chef who looked out for us by reserving our favourite table everyday and always making sure we were happy and enjoying the food which was excellent at all meal times. We also want to say a Big Thank You to the Manager and Staff who we didnt get their names but were also so friendly. After saying all this it will be no surprise that we will be booking again for our 2026 holiday at the Diogenis Blue Palace xx

fantastic hotel, very friendly and good English speaking staff very helpful. we ate at the hotel and also in the surrounding restaurants. it's first come first serve with the sunbeds on the beach . the beach and sea are spectacular and are loved by many . on the last day we asked if we could use a shower room whist waiting for the coach to the airport nothing is to much trouble and a lovely young man carried our bags for us to the room where we showered . the food is excellent and is kept cold or hot . the choice is great at every meal time . the drinks are served in plastic cups for the pool side but in the restaurant they use glass . it's been my first time in Greece but will definitely not my last ....what an amazing experience.

We spent absolutnie amazing time in there. Chef Ilias make my birthday more the amazing. His food was great. Food was great and we enjoyed every single moment. We were welcomed like there family. We definitely will come back and we recommend to come and stay . Ask for chef Ilias .

Arrived late on a Tuesday evening, to be greeted by a welcoming gentleman, who insisted on us having a meal before sorting everything out. The kitchen had put aside plates of food for us, which we really appreciated. We had booked a sub basement room, so we're a little unsure what to expect, especially after reading the reviews online, yet we were shown to a wonderful 1st floor room, with a balcony & pool view. Bathroom was very modern with a large shower. We were all inclusive, & although a lot of the food choices were repeated most days, there was enough choice to have different things if wanted. The waiters were attentive and great fun, eager to make your stay great. We got there on 13th May & everything was in the process of being set up for the season. Umbrellas on the beach appeared within a few days, Nulas was revamped etc. There is a land train which picks up outside the Island hotel (next door) which is great for seeing where everything is in Kato Gouves, as amenities are spread out. The Anfield bar is less than 5 minutes walk away & the stunning church is the same distance. My (humble) opinion of this hotel is that it is a reasonable hotel with wonderful staff & a more than adequate choice of food & drink. One night, the guests consisted of British, Syrian, Ukrainian, French, Lithuanian & German. Was fantastic to see all nationalities together and having fun. 🌞

So this is a very honest review!! 4 star hotel ?? Maybe not but.... what a lovely place!! We had a semi basment room as it was the cheapest option and its very basic but comfortable. Shower is tiny so if your on the larger side like me you may struggle. If I came again I would defo opt for the upgrade, people have good reviews of these. The hotel is extremely clean! Maids work endlessly to keep it that way. However what makes this place so special is the staff! Beni, Ivan and ilias. Cretans have a reputation of being the most friendly people and that's so very true here. This family work tirelessly to make sure you hoilday goes well. Food is lovely, yes not the hotist but lovely Cretan food! The potatoes are to die for! If you have kids there's not a great choice for a fussy eater though. If your a veggie your well catered for. Going to miss this place and the wonderful people I have met. I will be back!!

Great Hotel, everything thing you could possibly need. Staff are fantastic, can’t do enough for you. Would recommend you try the Raki, sets you up for a great night 😜. Food by Ella’s is the best, Benny for the beer and Iavn for the entertainment. Exceptional place will be back 100% next year.

Diogenis Blue Palace the Gem of Crete, our 3rd year of visiting the island and staying at the family run hotel. We are made to feel welcome and the staff know “Cretian Hospitality”. From Costas the Hotel Manager, Illias the Head Chef, to Benni and Evan the Bar staff, everyone makes you feel welcomed, as if you’re guests at their home. We will be returning again, to the best Hotel on Crete.
