This hotel has a really good spa with gym, saunas and jacuzzi. Rooms are very modern, soacious and clean but the bed is extrmely hard. The buffet restaurant was more tyan enough for us for the weekend - they have extremely wide range of varieties on table and the selection changes day to day. But the staff was absolutely lost with allergy information and they had my wife eat food with nuts and almonds several times although she kept asking if it was safe ot not. Very poor job on several occasions from the restaurant staff. Otjer than that it was a very nice and relaxing stay!
All are good, except no refund when I made duplicate booking by mistake, even I talked to them 1 week before the arriving date. I waste 3 nights
The hotel also didn't seem to encourage or support refilling our own bottles. We asked where we could do this and were given three new plastic bottles instead. We eventually found a cooler in the gym, but would have been nice if they promoted this more to save plastic waste.
One perk they offer is a pillow menu, but we were told it was "unavailable" during our stay. They also claim to offer a transfer to the airport, but we were told that was only if we stayed a full week. Staff were nice enough, but fairly unhelpful. We were often met with "I don't know" or shrugs when asking for things.
Perhaps we got unlucky, esp. with the room and private pool we hardly used due to lack of sun, but we don't feel we got value for what we paid and wouldn't go back.
The hotel's restaurants were exceptional, but it's crucial to book in advance to avoid disappointment. Unfortunately, we found the evening buffet food to be underwhelming. Our suite with a private pool was excellent, offering a peaceful retreat away from the busier main areas, especially in the afternoons.
Special mention goes to Maria at the adults-only pool bar—her service was outstanding. She was attentive, kind, and consistently thoughtful throughout our stay, and is a real asset to Avra.
In summary, the hotel is fantastic, but your experience will largely depend on your room choice, the area you stay in, and making sure to pre-book the restaurants to avoid relying on the buffet for dinner.
