Olympia Hotel in Kos Town

We stayed here for one week, and what an amazing experience it was.

Staff
Every single person in this hotel is friendly, kind, and helpful. During our stay, we could ask any one of them for anything, and they would help us to the best of their ability.

Even in times of trouble. For example, we thought my girlfriend had been bitten by a cat (turned out to be nothing), and the nightman gave us great advice to go to the hospital. When we got back, he was waiting outside just to make sure everything was okay.

When my girlfriend and I were about to go back home, we thought she had lost her ID, and the front office employee immediately offered to call the restaurant we had visited to make sure it wasn’t there.

Location
We had bicycles, which was ideal — although you could walk everywhere, we just preferred bikes. The hotel is right behind the city centre. Walking to the city took us 5 minutes, same with the beach. The location is also not too busy; the only thing we heard were a few cars passing by, and that’s it. Very nice location-wise, I must say.

Room and hotel
The room we stayed in was clean, cool, and nicely decorated. They clean the rooms every day if you want and change your towels. The air conditioning was a real lifesaver during the hot days — it kept our room cool and stopped us from sweating all the time. The bed was, to our surprise, quite comfortable, and we slept really well here. Although mentioned on the Sunweb website, there was no safe in the room. We didn’t need it, but I thought I’d mention it.

The rest of the hotel was also really clean and pleasantly cool during the afternoons. The front office was always open for questions or just a nice conversation.

The breakfast was simple but nice — bread, yoghurt, and eggs. It was self-service, which we enjoyed, as you could grab exactly what you liked. Although simple, there was always fresh fruit and cakes. The staff made sure to continuously restock the food, ensuring it was never empty and that everyone could have what they wanted.

Chippy
My girlfriend and I are real animal lovers. On Kos, there are a lot of stray cats, and there was one particular cat hanging around our hotel. We gave it some water every morning, and it seemed really well-behaved. During our stay, we learned that locals in the neighbourhood gave the cats food and water, so we wanted to help too.

After a few days, the cat recognised us and came up to us every time we walked past. We noticed it had a chipped ear, so we called it Chippy (full name: Chippy Pookie). Chippy was really sweet and friendly. We asked the staff about her, and they told us her owner had unfortunately passed away. We looked out for this cat all week and asked the staff if they could keep an eye out for Chippy, maybe feed her or give her water every now and then. I can only hope Chippy becomes a regular and a true iconic mascot for Olympia Hotel.

Our stay on Kos, and at Olympia, was amazing thanks to all the kind people of this hotel. We want to sincerely thank you. We wish you a good season. And to you, Chippy — we hope to see you again, and maybe take you in if we have the space. We hope you do well.

Clean rooms, kind stuff and at the heart of the town for a reasonable price

The hotel was great! Had an amazing time here in Kos. Extra shoutout towards Stefanos! A hard worker, very polite, and made me feel at home 😀 Made me want to come back to the hotel... probably next year!

Great location, really close to the center. The breakfast was good with breads, cake, coffee, juice, eggs, bacon etc.

best family hotel in kos island!!!! very clean rooms, 24h reception, very helpful staff!! The hotel is in a really central area of ​​Kos, but on a quiet street with lots of good restaurants nearby. The rooms are very clean. A special bonus for the absolutely delicious breakfast with local and homemade food, served in the lovely garden. Finally the service was impeccable, the whole staff is really kind and always ready to help. We enjoyed our stay so much that we decided to come back after spending a few days in Leros.

Very close to the center, clean, large room and spacious bathroom( the room we chose when booking, just like in the pictures), balcony. Varied breakfast from omelette, boiled eggs, cheeses, ham, to fruits and local pastries.
