Valis Resort Hotel

It’s a shame really as this place could be way better than what it is. The carpets in the hallways are absolutely disgusting. The rooms are so-so with old furniture that likely hasn’t been updated since the hotel opened.

I would not recommend that anyone stays at this hotel until the rooms have been completely refurbished. Absolutely everything needs updating. How this hotel can claim to be a 5 star resort is beyond belief. My wife and I booked a ‘Junior Suite’ for four nights. When we arrived we were told that they had given us an upgrade to….. a ‘Junior Suite’. When we were shown the room it was quite shockingly awful – unclean and badly needing updating. We were told they were fully booked and that they had ‘no refund policy’. After a very embarrassing and stressful stand-off we were offered the ‘honeymoon suite’. It was late in the day and with commitments we had to accept what we were offered – having already paid the money, with no sign of them relenting on any kind of refund. When walking in or out of the hotel the staff on the desk didn’t make any attempt to be friendly, let alone make eye contact. It was like a ghost town. We stayed as long as we really had to and left, giving up two nights of our booking and had to pay again for better accommodation elsewhere. In brief summary the problems include: Archaic furniture Uncomfortable beds with inadequate mattress and duvet Virtually no wall decoration – large walls with no pictures Archaic air condition system Scratches and stains on the wooden floors Scratches with peeling paint on walls and ceilings Furniture stained Lighting not all working TV and remote not working Broken toilet seat Broken shower riser rail – head holder Broken toilet brush holder No shower screen No working bath plug (making the bath unusable) Ancient hair-dryer No hot water when needed – having to run the taps for 20 minutes to get any hot water and sometimes not at all. Bath sealant very poor Balcony was uncared for – peeling paint everywhere, rusty lighting, awful plastic furniture that needs replacing. Balcony door locks unsecure A so called ‘mini-bar’ - with a lack of any quality drinks in it Ill fitting, worn and stained carpets throughout the hallways

We booked this resort in order to relax abd spend quality time as a family but must say we are very dissapointed. Rooms are lovely spacious but need to refurbish asap. Pool and pool area its dirty and very bussy. Breakfast its absolutely horrible. Cheapest quality of everything. Safest is to eat bread and butter. Breakfast coffe its undrinkable. Definately not a 5 * experience. And in all honesty not even 3 * Gym its a joke, indoor pool doesnt feel clean as well. Surely not a 5 *

Terrible pool. Not what they show in pictures. About 3 times smaller. The floors in the rooms are broken.
Staff were ok but not for a 5 star hotell.
Also when you pay expensive money for that place they don't write that the pool is open for everybody. Son you can imagine the CHAOS in the weekend.
Breakfast only ok. Nothing more.
I also stayed in a nother hotel in portaria with 4 stars but it was 3 times better.
Really its a pitty. Dont spend your money here. We booked 3 nights but left in one.

The restaurant "tsippuradiko" were good with acceptable prices but we wated about 40 mins to order and they only hade guests at 4 tables😂🙌

This is not a 5-star hotel. The rooms are old and dated. The bed did not even have a proper mattress - a thin piece of foam. I then wondered why they did not provide a cover or blanket and that is because the air conditioning does not work. The AC stops when you leave the room and then takes 45 minutes once you have come back to the room to reach a decent ( note not the desired) temperature. Unacceptable, when the outside temperature is 45 degrees Celsius. Grossly understated value for money, especially in a small town outside of Volos not a major tourist town, where you cannot even swim at the beach across from the hotel.

A few years ago we stayed at this hotel and had great memories. Unfortunately our experience this time was disappointing.
A/C not working properly, within one hour we were sweating + pillows huge and hard = we slept very little.
no kettle / coffee maker = even 3* hotels have one of the two.
curtains with great gaps from windows = no sufficient darkness for sleep.
phone not working, could not contact reception
entire hotel (furniture and exterior) needs renovation..
swimming pool like a kid's playground...
breakfast area with food on the floor, right outside buffet, waiters passing by without picking it up, filthy and also dangerous for slipping accidents..decent variety of food but nothing, NOTHING tasted good. not even bread or coffee...
not even a small bottle of water complimentary (1* hotels offer that globally!!!)
paid in cash and got no receipt (this is a tax crime!!)
location way out of volos town without a proper beach anywhere close to the property.
we were not thanked or greeted at all, not even asked how our stay was...
only good points: spacious room, free parking on site.
overall: real disappointment...

Not a five star hotel. Very worn furniture and the rooms seem to be untidy. It needs an immediate renovation. Not a value for money. I don’t recommend it. No heated indoor pool.
