Beautifully Renovated Spa Bath.
Very good sauna and a unique experience shower.
There are always enough sauna towels, which are clean and nicely ironed.
Unfortunately, the steam room was operating at a very low efficiency. The sauna masters were mediocre and boring, just like the sauna rituals themselves.
Pleasant outdoor pool.
There are also two thermal water pools where you can spend a relaxing time. The showers and changing rooms are adequate, and there is a centrifuge for drying swimsuits.
The restaurant is very nice, and they offer generous meals. All the waitstaff are very kind.
Unfortunately, at dinner they charge for the tea that is available for free at breakfast, so the only option – even for drinking water – is to buy overpriced beverages. This is unreasonable, considering that Hungary has excellent drinking water, which should be preferred over expensive and often poor-quality bottled mineral water.
The courtyard and gardens are very well maintained. The hotel itself has great potential. Sadly, this cannot be said about room management – which is the biggest downside.
The rooms are in dire need of renovation, not only because of the extremely outdated style but also due to the condition of the equipment.
In our room, number 2605:
• The wardrobe door doesn’t work, it’s stuck.
• The shower door is broken off.
• The sink is clogged.
• But above all, the worst was the air conditioning. It clearly hasn’t been cleaned in years, as it made the room smell very unpleasant. Moreover, it couldn’t cool the room at all.
The terrace is small and outdated, with an ugly iron railing covered by a metal plate. Even though it’s on the sixth floor, you can’t enjoy the view because all you see is the worn-out metal plate – unless you’re standing.
On Saturday, the garden cinema operated at such a high volume until 11:00 PM, followed by loud music, that it was impossible to sleep or even watch your own movie in the room, even with all doors and windows closed.
I do not recommend staying here on weekends if you’re looking to rest.
It is sad to see a hotel with such a great location, good facilities, and bathing opportunities being operated this way. I do not recommend it to anyone who is looking for a carefree and relaxing stay.

Let me know if you’d like to polish it into a formal review or email.
Infuriating things were (ones I cannot come back again to experience once more) - the promo video, made probably in the 1980s, super low resolution, playing a music 'ambiance' loop forever, both on TV, in the foier and worst of all outside the hotel, just a super cringy and annoying music looping every 20 seconds - this will drive any guests mad, the ones sitting on the benches outside, enjoying their cigarette. This is the core thing making me not want to come back.
Another big annoyance was the room's key needed to keep the electric lights/sockets powered, meaning all sockets would be powered off every time you leave the room. So no charging of devices once out. Was playing havoc with my laptop that needed constant power supply.
Less annoying, but possibly a deciding factor of me not coming back here again was some of the treatments, such as mud wrapping.
I am a born and raised eastern European myself, but having lived in the UK last 30+ years I do not get how I can be asked to remove my underwear for a treatment that didn't go anywhere near that area. Why?!? I am shy, due to my age and appearance and that was a big no no for me, with both present male and female attendents.
Overall experience was great, but let down by things I've mentioned.
The sauna was a dissapointment, because it was one of the points to book here, but all of the zone is a no swimsuit one, not divided by men/women. At least you can keep your towel on. I think this should not be mandatory as I saw even in Finland, or give a different zone for nudists.
Rooms are decent size, but a bit outdated, most of the visitors are seniors for their medical treatments.
We had half board, dinner and breakfast, drinks not included, we only had a welcome drink at the bar at the reception. Large offers of food for everyone, prices a bit high for cocktails.
We paid 218 euros for the night for the above-mentioned, but for me it was not worth it (parking was also not included). Regarding the location, you only come here to stay at the resort or to go by car, Balaton is about 12 km away.
However there were things which made the stay a bit unpleasant sometime:
1. During dinner we were told guests were expected to wear long pants. I didn't have any long pants with me so I had the choice to wear some nasty looking pants which was 3 times my size OR not have dinner. Apparently this was shared in an email beforehand, I checked it and I haven't received anything. I bought fitting pants the next day however the day after I saw another man being in the dinner area with short pants. What are these double standards? So the rules are for people who cooperate and doesn't apply to others? Definitely not a good look.
2. The bar at the pools is SO SLOW. We waited like 30 mins for a sandwich. I'm a bit puzzled why the service there is so slow. Overall Im happy to recommend this to anyone besides the minor annoyances mentioned below. Its huge and very nice overall, also in a good location.
3. There is a parrot in the middle of the hotel, however the cage is so small. Surely the owner could invest into a bigger cage. That poor bird looks like it wasn't able to extend its wings for years.
Plus, no free parking... 8 euros per night.
So... everything is good apart from the basics. 🤦♂️
