Reviews
I stayed here with my friend and unfortunately had a subpar experience. We stayed in September for 2 nights.
Customer Service:
- Lack of communication. The hotel didn't inform us about the 3 conferences taking place. When we arrived, to our huge surprise, the check-in queue was very long. There were other events happening the next day too and you could see construction, which also no one informed us about (luckily they weren't noisy, but it definitely ruined the vibe of "4 stars").
- The main revolving door wasn't functioning, which is a minor inconvenience.
- Personnel are rude, except for Cintia and another girl whose name unfortunately I forgot, but she is a bartender in the lobby bar from Ukraine. These two girls were kind and professional. The receptionists were not welcoming at all. When we asked questions they answered aggressively and with disdain, like we were supposed to know the answer by ourselves.
- In general, it felt like the staff were always running and in a hurry to take care of other guests.
Rooms:
- The rooms are quite nice with modern decor and the beds are comfortable.
- Nevertheless, we had to change rooms (from Deluxe room) as we were advertized "newly renovated room with garden view", but our view was blocked by construction. We could also hear loud party music from one of the conferences at 1am, when we were trying to sleep.
- The bathrooms in both rooms had broken showers so you couldn't adjust the height. I didn't like that the bathroom door in the first room was just a sliding door.
Wellness:
- I felt cold most of the time, unless I was in one of the saunas. The water temperatures could be warmer (they were 32-34°C).
- There were a lot of pool tiles missing, and ONE analog clock mounted on one of the walls really far away.
- Otherwise there are two separate wellness areas (one is available to kids under 12).
Food:
- Not bad not great. I'm vegan and I was able to find food (breakfast and dinner), not many options, albeit I didn't let them know my dietary needs in advance. The allergens are labeled on the Swedish buffet meals. They also had one delicious A La Carte vegan appetizer option for dinner. The appetizers are included in the price.
- The tables often didn't have any cutlery or napkins, though you can get these near the buffet. But some tables had cutlery, some tables didn't, and I didn't understand the logic.
Check-in – room was given to use 2 hours after should be available (1 hour we were waiting in lobby). After we came to the room (superior family room plus) there was still lady trying to set a cot – unsuccessfully, I need to make it by myself and ask for pillow and blanket. There were missing pillows, no towels were in the room, second bed was not ready at all. There were missing chairs in the room, missing remote controller for TV, hotel phone was not working and safe was blocked.
Our room was overall dirty and bathrooms feels like not properly cleaned after previous guests.
Room and equipment was very old, lot of signs of usage and small damages everywhere. Strange smell was coming from air conditioning, which was anyway weak (running non-stop at full speed and still hot in the room). In TV there were only Hungarian channels in analog quality.
Regular cleaning during our stay was very poor, every second day they just took the bins, towels were changed only on demand, no cleaning of the bathrooms during our stay. Housekeeping and cleanliness is the biggest problem of this hotel.
Personal is not very kind, not willing to help with anything and some of them a bit rude. Some employees in reception / wellness reception don’t speak English.
All animation activities are only in Hungarian language. Slovaks seems to be not welcomed.
Breakfast was all week the same with small possibilities of choice. Dinners were okay.
Pools, saunas, beach, access to lake – all is okay with sufficient quantity of camp-beds. There is a good food in pool bar.
Negative: I will start with parking. On the site where we made the reservation was parking fee 1500HUF, on hotel document was price 2500HUF and in reality was it 3000HUF per night. In general Im not used to pay separate for parking. Rooms: Could be little bit more cleaner, but bigger problem was bed and mattress. Bed wasn’t in middle supported so it was like funnel and mattress was worn and old. Same was with chair, it was like sitting on toilet. Also negative from my point of view is the service tax in restaurant and bar.
In general was stay nice, personal is friendly. Lucky the hotel wasn’t too crowdy. In TV are only channels in Hungarian, but I was able to see 2 Champions League matches, without sound as I don’t understand Hungarian. Possible improvement where you could get more money is to have possibility in play arena to buy coins for the slot machines with card, and not only with HUF notes.
Thank you
There are definetely better alternatives in the area. The inside of our room was generally alright. A/C and the fridge on the other hand were not properly working and former has never been fixed despite me requesting that thrice at the front desk.
The balcony looked like the pictures I added, dirty and decaying.
There were plenty of options to choose from the buffet, but the food was over all mediocre.
The spa area was great though.
In this state the hotel does not deserve beyond two stars.
A bottle of champagne waiting for us in the fridge was a nice touch too.
