Hotel San Pietro

This hotel does not deserve 4-stars as it is barely even considered a 2-star. Everything about this hotel isn't what's shown in images. The price we paid per night is not worth it. We expected something much better as it was listed as a 4-star but it was really disappointing to find it in this state.

The mattress and bed sheets are cheap and itchy. There is mold everywhere on the tiles and the room isn't deep cleaned. There are mosquitoes everywhere. The towels and the bedsheets smelled weird and musty. They need to get new sheets as they are not for human use. Also, the whole hotel smells weird - it really needs deep cleaning. Even the kettle in the room is rusty and broken.

The breakfast barely had any options and most of it was stale and tasteless. Moreover, the coffee served wasn't hot. We struggled to find food options near the hotel since there were no restaurants nearby. And since this hotel does not offer room service or food in the restaurant in the terrace we had to sleep hungry.

The neighborhood this hotel is situated in is a whole different story. We never went out at night because of how unsafe we felt just leaving the hotel. The amount of beggars and suspicious individuals in this neighborhood is really concerning. The amount of trash that's outside was shocking. The location is close to the station but we did not even benefit from that since it was dangerous to approach the station. We booked this hotel thinking that it's close to the center, we were shocked to find out that we are 30mins away from the actual attractions.

To use the safebox in the room we had to use our hotel key (an old fashioned heavy key.) But since we gave the key to the reception everytime we left the hotel it felt wrong to leave anything in the safebox.

The hotel does not offer complimentary water and the neighborhood was unsafe to walk through. Therefore, we resorted to using the water in the minibar which was extremelly overpriced. Even when we went to the nearest supermarket (they did not refill the minibar) we felt extremelly unsafe to walk through the streets.

The hotel decor and vibes felt like something from the old age. The furniture was old fashioned and needed renovation. The only good looking thing about this hotel is the lobby which is the only thing that's renovated and semi-modern. The elevator is really shaky and scary to ride in. The keyholes are stiff, you would need to push the door and move the key at the same time to open it.

The only good thing about this hotel is the AC (air conditioning) as it worked fine.

The internet connection was below average. The connection kept cutting off at random times during the day which was inconvenient. We called the reception several times for them to "restart the router."

When you order a taxi through the reception the prices are too high. The taxi driver does not follow the meter and only gives a "special price." I am not sure if this is a system in all of Italy or only this hotel.

To make matters worst, on our last day (our check-out day) the hotel staff tried to barge into our room thinking that "we left." It wasn't even near checkout time for them to kick us out.
