Reviews
Pros
• Really good customer service from everyone but I want to point out Sapna, whos customer service was just exceptional. She had such great energy which made our stay
• Located next to a metro station and bus stops - found it very easy to get about from this hotel
Cons
• Check out is 10am. It didnt affect me as I had to leave early, however, I still thought that time was quite outrageous. No one likes an early Check out. Especially since Check in isnt until 3pm! HOWEVER, I arrived to my hotel early and they was able to have my room ready by 12pm.
• You have to pay for luggage storage which ive never had to do before in all my years of travel. This year already ive travelled 12 times and ive never once paid for luggage storage.
They had a very stressful stay at that hotel.. What happened to them was unacceptable and left them deeply shaken.
During the night, while they were sleeping, a robber managed to enter their room. They woke up terrified to find a stranger inside, who quickly grabbed a bag containing money, a passport, important documents, and personal belongings before escaping through the window. The most shocking part is that this was the only room in the hotel without window shutters – and it was given to them. This raises serious questions about safety and responsibility.
Equally disturbing was the reaction of the hotel staff. Instead of showing concern or taking immediate action, the reception staff refused to help and did not even want to call the police. Their dismissive attitude made the situation even worse and left my friend and her family feeling abandoned in a foreign country after such a traumatic experience.
Since then, they have been under enormous stress, struggling to sleep at night due to fear and anxiety. Nothing has been solved, and no support was provided by the hotel, nor by the police…
This hotel failed completely in ensuring guest safety, basic hospitality, and proper handling of a serious incident.
The travelers should avoid this hotel if they value their safety and peace of mind !!!
The service in the restaurant at night from the manager was at best disinterested. He laughed and joked with Italian families and ignored us. The restaurant tried to over charge us on the bill and it had to be questioned 2 times before it was corrected. Please check your bills.
However the worse is that it appears that somebody tried or even succeeded in entering our room and we need to check if some property of my wife's was stolen. I reported this to reception on leaving and asked them to note that the door had been damaged.
The only reason I haven't given the place a 1 star is because of the excellent service in the restaurant from the young African waiter who resolved our issue with the bill and took an interest in our experience.
The staff were incredibly welcoming and informative, always ready to assist with a smile. The hotel's location is a major plus, being within close walking distance to the Central Station, which made getting around very convenient. We also enjoyed exploring the area, which has a lot of choices for leather shops on the same and neighboring small roads.
The only minor downside was the breakfast, which was the same every day. Also, while the location is convenient, the immediate area can feel a bit rough, so it's wise to be careful during dark hours.
Overall, we highly recommend Hotel Vergilius Billia for its spacious, clean rooms, friendly staff, and excellent proximity to the train station.
We were extremely disappointed with our stay at this hotel. It’s simply not what it claims to be, and we left feeling like we’d been misled. Unfortunately, we learned the hard way that star ratings mean very little—reading guest reviews is far more telling, and in this case, they were spot on.
The room we received was nothing like the photos advertised online. It was outdated, mouldy, dirty, and came with an odd “no eating” policy, which made the stay even more uncomfortable. For a hotel that promotes itself on its cleanliness, the reality was far from it.
The buffet was just as underwhelming. Hot foods like eggs and meats were served cold, while cold items looked like leftovers from the day before. The use of flimsy cardboard cups for juice was another telling detail that this place is far from “luxury.”
Ultimately, this hotel feels like a tourist trap—high prices, nice photos, non-refundable bookings, and a 4-star rating that’s completely unearned. Save yourself the disappointment and look elsewhere.
Also to top it all off they request you leave you’re room key with the key to you’re safe with them every time you go out. On return they don’t even ask for any proof of identity so anyone who looks like a tourist can just get the key to you’re room and safe as it was a different receptionist each time which isn’t too great either.
