Grand Hotel Vesuvio in Sorrento

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The location is truly beautiful, with amazing views all around. From the top floor, the view of Mount Vesuvius is especially stunning — it’s a must-see and perfect for taking photos.

The pool area was great. The pool was big and clean, and there were plenty of deckchairs that were perfect for sunbathing and relaxing in the sun.

The inside of the hotel was also very impressive. The reception area looked elegant and welcoming, and it gave a great first impression when we arrived. The rest of the hotel had a nice, stylish feel as well.

Our room was clean, cosy, and very comfortable — just what we needed after a busy day. It was quiet and peaceful, which made it easy to rest.

The restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful, which we really appreciated. However, the food might not be for everyone, especially if you're a bit of a picky eater. Also, the starters at dinner were surprisingly large — more like a full meal — which made it hard to enjoy the main course and dessert afterward.

Overall, this hotel offers beautiful views, especially of Mount Vesuvius, along with great service, a nice pool, and comfy rooms. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because the food could be better balanced, but everything else made it a wonderful place to stay. I’d definitely recommend it to others.

Just spent two weeks here, it's a fantastic base to explore the various sights, Capri,Almafi,Pompeii,Vesuvius etc.
Hotel was fantastic,every staff member was friendly and went out of their way to help.
Rooms were nice and big, if you need a kettle just ask and they will provide you with one.
The food was lovely and very plentiful
a good selection.
Shuttle bus service was very good always on time
Swimming pool was lovely, nice and spacious a good siz to do some morning lengths.
A lovely hotel to stay in and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Sorrento.

Nice rooms and furnishings. Would have been nice to have a coffee maker in the room. Food service was quite adequate. Friendly staff.
They had scheduled shuttle service to town which was about a 7 minute drive. Views from the hotel was nice

Have just spent a glorious 7 nights at this beautiful hotel in Sorrento it was our second stay there and will definitely be returning again next year. Out of all the hotels we have stayed at in Sorrento this is definitely by far the best. The staff are impeccable and nothing is too much trouble for them. A special mention must be made to Roberto who is the Maitre D both he and his staff are second to none very pleasant chatty and caring. The food at this hotel is wonderful and if you do not like what is on the menu then you can ask for something that is more suitable for you. This hotel should be rated 6 star for its staff alone. Can't wait to see them all again next year.

Pros: staff friendly, rooms are clean, large, bright, quiet, shower pressure great. I had balcony, sea view room where the view was spectacular. Huge pool with lots of lounge chairs available.
Cons: food was ok only 1 restaurant though. While offer of a shuttle into town is a nice perk, as it is Not really walkable area to Sorrento city center, the shuttle schedule was too long between runs.. every 1/2 hour would be better. People would be pushing their way onto the shuttle most runs and some people could not get on.. inconsistent enforcement whether allowing people to stand or not.. Towards the end of the trip they had a larger bus so this was improved... not sure if temporary or permanent fix.. cab ride was 20-25 euros if you didn’t want to wait for the shuttle

Overall, I would likely stay here again but shuttle needs to be improved for higher rating.

We had an amazing stay. the kids loved the pool and views. They always found something to eat at breakfast.
The room was very clean and the front desk went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Lovely hotel and lovely staff.
There is a regular shuttle bus down to the town.

Was very impressed with the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel. Room cleaning was very good and all the staff was very friendly and helpful when needed. The location to downtown is less than a 10 minute drive and the hotel has a shuttle bus with many choices of leave and return departure times. Overall a very good experience.

The staff were fabulous, friendly and very knowledgable. It might say 4 star for the building, but the customer service was definitely 5 star! The free shuttle bus was fantastic into town, to see all the sites! The view from the pool, restaurant and balconies is incredible! We also used the spa room for massages, great experience & reasonable price!

The only negative, would be that they need another mirror in the bedroom by the vanity unit. As the only full length is attached to the bathroom door with no access to a plug.

Highly recommend this as a great place to stay in Sorrento and look forward to going back soon!
