Hotel Italia

We knew this wasn’t a luxury hotel but expected better. Lobby was nice and reception staff welcoming. Rooms were a bare minimum. Roller shutters on the windows to block out noise and afternoon hot sun. No tea or coffee making facility which really shouldn’t be a hard thing to supply.
Breakfast was by far worst in Italy. Unfriendly staff, watermelon was off. Coffee terrible. We didn’t go the next morning and opted for a breakfast at Elk Bakery.
Beds were like a rock. No tissues supplied either.
But, the worse thing was they wanted to charge us for using extra towels. It was so hot that we needed an extra shower and they said we need to charge 5Euro per towel. It took 4 phone calls to sort that out and said they can only give me a towel if I gave the wet towel in exchange.
I’d not recommend this place. Spend a bit extra and stay elsewhere.

Dishonesty at its best: they kept half of the €30 deposit of an entire group of students, just because some of them returned late to the hotel and made noise. No damage done to the hotel whatsoever and deposit was kept from students who didn't return late and didn't make any noise. Beds are tiny and rooms are hugely overpriced for the star rating.
