Crowne Plaza Muscat, an IHG Hotel

A very nice hotel which I would recommend to anyone. The view and setting is unparalleled in Muscat because it has a lovely pool area and downstairs its own beach, and the sunset views over Muscat are incredible. Plus points: very clean and well maintained hotel with everything done right. Friendly, professional and well trained staff. Very good breakfast buffet and attentive service. The restaurants were all good and very competent. Yes at some stage the room needs to be redecorated, but it was comfortable, clean and pleasant. Very minor point, please put a couple of hooks or a panel with hooks in the room or on the back of the bathroom door to hang bathrobes, jackets etc. I would definitely stay here again.

amazing hotel, the twin room was a bit small but overall experience and breakfast amazing!! especially as a vegan, I had a lot of savoury options. maybe sweets could be improved in terms of plant based options but you still have cereal, fruit, juice, dates, jam if craving something sweet. however, only choice of plant milk is soya, which I don’t really like.

Great location, close to town, several good restaurants, private beach and nice pool. good service too.I really like how they give you refillable water bottles and dispensers on every floor. also no single use plastics for shower gel etc. Even over Christmas the restaurants and beach were not too crowded.

Rooms have a fabulous view over the sea and updated bathrooms but the rooms themselves are a bit tired.

Nevertheless I would recommend the hotel.

This hotel is just amazing. I strongly recommend it to anyone for a stay in Muscat. The location is perfect with a very nice view on Muscat and every evening you can enjoy a great sunset on the city. The hotel is equipped with a double pool and a private beach. The restaurant is very good, the food is fresh, tasty and every night different. Service and staff deserve all the 5 stars!

A very special hotel with a private beach and nice pool. The staff are friendly and helpful. The environment is breezy and fresh. There are Italian, Iranian, International restaurants and other cafes or bars however all food even the room service food are so expensive. The seafood buffet on Thursday and Friday night is one of the best I have ever taste but it is quite expensive 29 OMR per person ~ 75$. I was lucky as everybody commented before me in most websites to have a very nice experience. The most observed negative comment where about the increased prices which is a misunderstand by guests of the excluded 17.4% tax. Nevertheless, the hotel need more refurbishments and to redesign and increase the pool area with a little helpful shades to avoid the sun rays. The good news that in few weeks the hotel will be closed till August to occupy our needs so we can return back with a bigger smile next time.

5 star experience from a 4 star hotel.

The view is beyond compare here - make sure you bag yourself a sea view. Luckily we were upgraded when we arrived and got one complimentarily. The staff are very helpful and friendly, and endeavour to make your stay as comfortable as possible. There are 3 restaurants on site, one English, one Persian, and one Italian, and also an outside bar. There are enough deck chairs for the clientele to relax on, and the two pools are cleaned nightly. The gym is fully equipped and great to work out in, usually it‘s pretty empty. One can also use tennis courts or squash courts freely.

Another advantage to this hotel is the private beach they have, which no-one else can access. It leads straight to the Gulf of Oman with a view of the Muscat coastline. I’m very glad we chose this hotel and will be staying here again.
