We finally found a real oasis of peace, far from the noise and crowd. The rooms are clean and tidy, the food is delicious and varied. The pool is lovely, tucked away. The staff is welcoming and friendly. They made us feel at home. We will definitely come again.

The hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. From the warm welcome by the staff to the impeccable cleanliness and stylish ambiance, I felt comfortable from the moment I arrived. The rooms were spacious and comfortably furnished, with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. The dining options left nothing to be desired, offering a variety of delicious food and drinks, all of which were of high quality and presented beautifully. Overall, my stay at the hotel was a wonderful experience that I would gladly repeat.

Overall very lovely hotel. All staff welcoming and helpful. Great selection of restaurants. Nice gym and spa areas. Pool modest but beautiful and pool guy very helpful. Good selection of foods for breakfast. Location, doesn’t seem to be close to anything apart from Muscat Bank which has a cafe/subway and shop inside if you needed extra things. Otherwise you’d have to drive or get a taxi to where you needed to be. Shower drains not cleaned for quite some time so couldn’t shower for longer than a minute before the water overflowed. Rooms not cleaned very well during the stay overall. Also the lifts can be quite confusing. Depending on what level your room is on that’s the highest you can go and you have to scan your card in the lift, but if someone in the lift before you scans the card and they’re on a higher level, often it worked out that you had to go up to a higher level to come back down again. I guess this idea of scanning is for security but frustrating overall as spent a lot of time going up/down past my room level for no reason. Hotel overall good but just some areas to work on to live up to the standards of a 5 star hotel. Staff always helpful.

Like we were living a dream. I wouldn't often write a review but couldn't pass on our experience at the Hormuz. This first visit to Oman was work-related & started with a 2 a.m. delay waiting for some lost luggage. Looking ahead to a 7 a.m. start the next day the visit began on the wrong foot until we arrived at the hotel & without any word from us, our room was upgraded (the huge tub was SO inviting & appreciated). Next morning was an encounter with the wonderful free breakfast buffet at The Straits which felt like a trip around the world with various food selections. Having not had a good passion fruit since times in Hawaii the whole experience each morning was a treat from smoked salmon down to more traditional foods. The Food & Beverage Outlet Manager, who even took time to sit and chat - leads by serving (which is the best style of leadership) and it transfers down to all other staff. Each one - without exception - from the front door to the pool staff were kind, friendly & welcoming. One feels safer with the elevator only going to your floor...the OMNY Brassiere was great with a fine atmosphere....loved the fountains at the pool. Standing under them felt like a trip to the spa - seriously! And you have sunshine there from 9 - 2 pm which was a perfect time. After 3 days of consistent quality & service, a trip to the Mutrah Souk - which is a cross between The Souk in Kuwait City & the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul - convinced us that the Hormuz is a glimpse into this fair & beautiful country. Three days in paradise.
Trying hard to find something negative about the trip, other than it was too short...next plan will be for longer. The only thing that comes to mind would be the advertised free shuttle service...that wasn't since it was only available after 5 which didn't fit any of our flights.

The hotel it's near the airport and 20 min away from the center of the city. Highly recommended.

Beautiful hotel and facilities. Professional friendly staff. Very comfortable bed. And nice spacious rooms. Great breakfast. The coffee was not so great. Definitely would stay here again.

Close to the airport. Welcoming staff. Large, well equipped rooms. Spotlessly clean. Shady pool. Perfect for our first night in Oman before heading off around the country.

If you want to meet up with friends then this posh place is your rendezvous. Test prices are off the roof then again you are at the top end of hotel services. 2 pots of tea cost around £15. Staff are extremely friendly and the place is cool.
