The Ex Capital Hotel in Bangkok

We arrived at 1am as we had a late flight. We had asked for late check out on the website and they had answered yes. When we arrived, after a 40 min taxi ride from the airport, we were informed that they didn’t have any available rooms, but we had a booking. Apparently three of their rooms were damaged and they had to cancel the 3 latest check ins, you’d think they’d send an email or call, but nothing. We found out when we arrived and had to find another hotel that would take us at 2 am. On booking.com my reservation still says confirmed!! Horrible experience.

Location is Bad! TV and TV Remote 20 years Old. Outdated.
I had a really bad experience at The Ex Capital Hotel Bangkok. The location is poor and right in front of a dirty drainage canal which smells terrible. There are lots of mosquitoes around.

The bed setup is uncomfortable as the pillow keeps slipping under the bed back, making it hard to sleep properly. The TV is very outdated and even in 2025 it doesn’t support YouTube, Netflix, or Amazon Prime. The remote is old and barely works.

They ask for a 1000 THB cash deposit, which is inconvenient. The hotel beer prices are also too high, a small Singha costs 64 THB while it’s just 30 THB at 7-Eleven.

There’s no microwave or utensils in the room, and the wooden chair is extremely uncomfortable, causing back pain.

Overall, not worth the money. Definitely needs a lot of improvement in comfort, cleanliness, and facilities.

Low price and clean, but I do not recommend. For two nights was to do.
But like other guests we were surprised that we have to pay 1000bath deposit.
Plus extra payment 300 Barth to wash towels (unfortunately I had makeup and there was something on towel). Because is extra wash… first time I had situation like this and I am wondering how they clean other towels 🤔
I have seen similar situation day before.
If you need cheap holidays, be aware of extra payments!
