We were welcomed by a strong, musty smell that suggested the room hadn’t been aired out in weeks. The walls had visible patches of mold, especially near the ceiling and behind the bed. A great touch if you’re into natural wall textures.
The mirror was rusting around the edges, and there were ants casually strolling along the walls like they owned the place. The mattress was so hard it felt like sleeping on compressed concrete, and the bedsheets had some stains I’d rather not think too hard about.
The walls were so thin, we didn’t need to guess what the neighbors were talking about – we heard every word.
In short, if you like roughing it with a hint of health hazard, this is your spot.
