So this hotel is actually called Dolphin Hotel Cafe. Ignore the Boutique hotel pictures as the building has been refurbished to a clean standard. The positives are that you are walking distance to the main transport hub in the tourist district Eminonou.
Ferries, trams, buses and trains to all the main routes. Also the staff member during my visit was very helpful. Negative would be the actual location is in the backstreets which need some development and there is no lift. Apart from that very cheap hotel to stay in.

Really bad service, booked this hotel months in advantage, and after 2 months they cancel the room and tell you you can book it again for double the price. I think it’s some kind of trick but don’t book here if you want to be sure your reservation is vallid!!

The reception didn't speak English, the rooms didn't feel clean, room was extremely small, shower head was broken... just wasn't a good experience for the amount of money we paid. The lighting I in the hallway was terrible.

The area sure gives an authentic local experience. We(2 middle aged ladies) felt safe walking about. Hassen who spoke little English received us well and really tried to make up for the everything the hotel lacked. And the hotel is lacking. Thank you Hassen you deserve to work in a better hotel that compliments the level of service you give.

If you are afraid of your health run away, non hygienic hotel. Blood inside the room covers the pillows and curtain. And large size of mosquitoes all over

OK value for the price. I was traveling alone as a woman and stopped often in the street by men asking where I was from in the world. This is beyond the control of the hotel but should remain a concern for solo female travelers.
Daily housekeeping kept the room clean and neat.
This location is difficult to hail a cab from and I found even using the UBER app that I needed to walk over about 3 blocks to get a car.

The rooms: clean, nice, comfortable.
The location: great! Walking distance from Hagia Sofia, Galata Tower, the musical instruments shops. The district is very authentic. That might be uncomfortable for some people, but for us it was a great experience since people are friendly, the food is delicious, there are plenty of local cafes and bakeries. You will get 100% authentic experience and you will never look to the tourist stuff the same way ever again. In the good way!
