Good hotel. Staff is very friendly.
The fitness room is well equipped for upper body weight training, especially for a hotel in the city. I appreciated that. Not much in terms of cardio or legs, but since Istanbul has so many hills, I didn't mind.
Room comfortable and reasonably quiet, considering the location.
Breakfast is decent, but not really worth the price. There are several better options for breakfast barely two minutes away.

My Home away from Home. Could not have asked for better Service, Staff, Views, Breakfast and Food. Root Karaköy exudes class and elegance on every level. Its perfectly central to everyone who wants to explore Istanbul or simply needs a safe haven for a work trip. I highly recommend :))

I can't imagine being based in a better location for an amazing istanbul holiday. Clean and comfortable rooms, lovely styling throughout the hotel and one of the best breakfasts I've enjoyed in any hotel I've stayed in. I highly recommend staying here. You're literally meters from some amazing restaurants and bars or waterside for an elevated experience. Thank you to the team for an amazing stay

We had a great stay at Root Hotels! The decor is super modern and beautiful—everything felt thoughtfully designed and aesthetically pleasing. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the start. Our favorite part by far was the breakfast each morning—delicious, fresh, and such a lovely way to start the day.
As others have mentioned, it can be a bit noisy, but that’s pretty typical for a city stay and didn’t take away from the experience. The only real downside was the AC—it struggled to keep the room cool, so it stayed pretty warm most of the time. We also used the gym and spa area once, and while it’s a nice amenity to have, there was a really strong sewage gas smell that made it tough to enjoy.

Terrible Experience at The Root Hotel Karaköy
My stay at The Root Hotel Karaköy was an absolute disaster. I booked a double room, but was given a room with a single bed and a child-sized bed instead. When I brought this up, a staff member named Okan Salman was incredibly rude, an Salamann was incredibly rude, dismissive, and acted as if my concerns were an inconvenience rather than a legitimate complaint. Instead of offering a solution, he kept insisting that “this is what you booked,” which was clearly not the case. His tone and attitude were completely unacceptable for someone working in hospitality.
The room itself was poorly maintained — noisy, with thin walls, and not particularly clean. The bed was uncomfortable, and the bathroom amenities were subpar. For the price I paid, I expected at least basic professionalism and courtesy.
Avoid this hotel at all costs. There are plenty of better options in Istanbul where the staff actually care about their guests. This experience left a very bad impression, and I would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

It was my favorite hotel because of its location and their respectful treatment of guests, but now they are receiving guests after plastic surgery, and the sight of the blood tubes is not suitable for me and the children with me, and we find them at breakfast and in the lobby. It was supposed to be a designated area for them.
