Poseidon Hotel - Adult Only

Not long got back from a week stay at The Poseidon Hotel in Marmaris. Overall it was a decent stay but there are a few things to point out and be wary of if you choose to stay in this hotel.

We originally booked a room with balcony and when arrived we did not have this. The room itself was nice and modern but very small. The food provided at the all inclusive did not offer much variety and what they had to offer was….different.

The main issue we had with this hotel is that I had left my belongings in a bag in my room and when I went to my room after the cleaners had done their job, they were no longer there. I reported this to the cleaner and reception staff but they did not accept liability and was faced with a very rude woman with an attitude problem who was the line manager, advising that it was our problem even though they were locked away in our room. So I would suggest being extra careful when keeping valuables in your room.

+ The hotel is located in the heart of everything. The beach is right infront (even though the beach is a lot better 20 mins walk downwards). There is alot of good food places around and all the shopping stalls. The bazar is only a 20 minute walk away which sounds long but once you get walking it feels a few minutes away as you can see all the beautiful scenery on the way there!
- We got an all inclusive which I thought meant food would be available whenever. However, they had set meal times and only then was food available. We had unlimited drinks which was nice however their non alcoholic drink selection wasn’t great.

Good location and hotel view on the photos; way more smaller in real, as it seems on the photos.

What’s good:

1. restaurant staff works fast and properly
2. Some rooms have sea view location.
3. Relatively clean.

What’s bad:

1. Restaurant & bar:
Untasty coffee (self-made from powder based coffee machine like you had in university). If you want good coffee - go to the closest restaurant.
Avarage food - warm in best case. Limited and repetitive meals. If you want good food - go to the closest restaurant.
Bar is opened 10:00- 23:00. Juices only from self-service machines. As a result - you can’t have coca-cola for your breakfast, only water mixed juice. If you want to have beer at 23:10 - look for any closest bar.
2. Cleanless & room:
Cleaning ladies enter your room without demand on their own, even if you don’t require cleaning - it can’t be like this!
Showers are pretty dirty.
There are no duvet covers in rooms and hotel! You have to sleep under the bare blanket.
3. Services:
Overpriced.
30 min massage for 35$ is definitely overpriced.
Had problems with upgrading my room - according to the receptionist there where no bigger rooms in the end of September (barely true). Offered me really good room (only one left) for extra 40€ day. When did you started pricing in euro in Turkey??? As the result - disappointed in service.
