W Downtown Hotel

I want to preface this saying that I have never felt compelled to write a review for a hotel room. Of all the travel I have ever done, I have not commented on the condition of a hotel room before. But I have to in this case.

First the pro's:

The view - that's it.

The cons:

1) Carpet was bunched up all over the room, tripping us around corners
2) The bed was probably the most disgusting thing we have ever seen. Bodily fluid stains all over.
3) The headboard was gross. You can clearly see the sweat stains from previous occupiers all over.
4) A lot of the furniture is chipped and damage, lending to a very cheap vibe to the room
5) And, the worst part - the couch. The couch smells like something died inside it. This is not hyperbole. If anyone from the staff reads this, go to room 1204, place your nose to the cushion and take a big whiff. 🤮🤮🤮 I only found out about this as we were leaving when my girlfriend asked me why I smelled like a dead rat despite wearing fresh clothes and being fully showered. It took 5 mins to realize it is because I sat on that disgusting couch for an hour waiting for her to get ready so we can check out and head to the airport and that stench had weaved itself into the fabric of my clothes. Thankfully I had another pair of clothes to change into.

Now, that is just the room. As for the rest of the property - the staff was nice, the lobby is great looking, and it is right off the highway which was great.

However, overall, I kind of feel robbed for the price I paid. I expect this kind of room quality from Super 8 or one of those pay-by-the-hour streetwalker playrooms, not a downtown Marriott property.
