Hilton Los Angeles-Universal City

This is a great location if you are heading to Universal. It is a short walk to the theme park and city walk. We didn't even bother with the shuttle as it was just as easy to walk there. The staff was great and very accommodating. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were nice and big. We would absolutely stay here again.

Just stayed overnight at the Hilton Universal City.

Pros:
• The staff was the friendliest I’ve encountered in years. I had interactions with the front desk, valet, room service, restaurant and housekeeping. Every single person, whether on the phone or in person, went out of their way to be helpful and courteous. I had started to believe customer service was no longer present in the hotel industry, but these Hilton employees proved me wrong.

• Rooms were spacious and bathrooms had large bottles of Crabtree & Evelyn shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion and a regular bar of soap.

• Food in the restaurant and room service tasted good.

• Proximity to Universal Studios can’t be beat, and there was a free shuttle to the park every 15-20 minutes.

Cons:
• It seems this hotels HVAC system is old, so the entire hotel can only blow cold air or warm, not both. We stayed on Dec 3rd and apparently they hadn’t switched to heat yet, so even though we had the thermostat set to 88 at one point, it was still blowing cold air.

• No foam pillows in the room. I called housekeeping and requested they bring 2 foam pillows. They actually brought up 4 pillows, but of the 4, only one was foam, and it wasn’t a good foam with substance; the other three were the same type as the ones already in the room: the kind that deflate as soon as you lay on them, with your head sinking to the mattress and the pillow puffing up on each side of your head.

• Mattresses were not comfortable.

• Food was outrageously priced. I ordered a small plate of chicken wings and a bowl of French onion soup through room service; there wasn’t even bread with the soup. The food came to $45 and the tax, service charge and mandatory gratuity was an additional $18.38, for a total of $63.38.

We very much enjoyed our stay. Like always with Hilton, everything was just perfect. The staff were all super friendly and serious about superior customer service. We enjoyed the morning buffet, the food was great and we ordered room service too and it was also great. Yes, you can easily walk to the theme park although there is also a shuttle about every 20 minutes too. You can not go wrong staying at Hilton.

The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with a refrigerator, coffee machine, and, upon request, a microwave. The hotel’s modern amenities and affordable pricing are fantastic, but it’s the friendly staff that truly makes it feel like home.

I had a fantastic experience at the Universal City Hilton! I rented the pool Cabanas and enjoyed the scenery very much. I had an issue with the outdoor service. However, it was handled immediately.
The hotel exceeded my expectations in terms of quality, and the staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly. I truly felt welcomed and valued throughout my stay. The amenities and food were top-notch, making it a perfect place for relaxation and enjoyment. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area!

Cafe Sierra buffet. Enough said. The food is great. Service is pleasant and friendly. It's a pricey buffet but definitely worth trying at least once. Keep an eye on special events. They'll be busy but if you can reserve a spot, you'll be in for a treat.

The Hilton is a very nice hotel. It is quiet, has many amenities and we were able to walk to the theme park.

The bed was great to sleep on and the water pressure in the shower was good with wonderfully hot water.

They just finished remodeling, and man does it look sharp! The ballrooms look amazing and boast 25 ft high ceilings. The hotel looks so bright and open now. I love the retro/modern touches of decor. The staff is awesome, so friendly, and ready to help you out with whatever you need. Near Universal Studios, not far from Hollywood, it is a great space for receptions.

This place has mastered customer service. Without exception, every single employee we encountered was genuinely friendly, helpful and fabulous! The guest rooms were comfortable and incredibly clean. There was a small issue with no hot water but they fixed it right away and the front desk followed up to be sure all was well. They simply wowed us!
