A very nice hotel right in the middle of Manhattan, and one of the few where the relationship price/quality is pretty fair.

I would say the best part is the service, the reception staff is wonderfully kind and attentive. The rooms are a bit small, but comfortable and clean. The room cleaning staff is also very nice.

The location is pretty convenient, right next to a subway station and steps away from Penn Station. As well, in a short walk you get to iconic NY places like the Empire State, the Edge observatory, Madison Square Garden and Macy's.

They advertise a lot about their past and the celebrities they had but they really need to up their game, the location is great but it looks like our room hadn't had any real upgrade in this century.

We stayed in the cheap Paris airport hotel during our transit and it was felt like a luxury hotel in comparison, it was way more modern, amenities were in a better state, the bed was more comfortable...

All the staff was very friendly and welcoming.

The hotel is supposed to be some landmark of New York. It's a hole. My room was the size of a closet. Air conditioning didn't work for the first two days I was there. Told the front desk I wanted a new room and suddenly my AC started to work. Room had NO amenities. They even had the nerve to charge me $30 for a refrigerator. Really. Every other hotel in the country has refrigerators in the room for free. And the noise level was out of control. Outside noise as well as paper thin walls. Could hear the room next door brushing their teeth. There are many better hotels less than a block away. The Hyatt Place just two blocks away has free breakfast and a fridge in the room. Very nice hotel.
The New Yorker should either be updated or bulldozed. There is no charm of the art deco era. Just a reminder how bad hotels were then. Uber can't even drop you off in front because there is a bus lane right in front of the hotel. This was a business trip and.the cost was outrageous. Stayed for 11 days and the cost was $3500. Much better value at other hotels in the area. Don't waste your time with this dump.

The New Yorker Hotel was exactly what we needed to celebrate my mother’s 76th birthday. NYC was on her bucket list and this hotel offers an absolutely perfect location. Upon arrival we were greeted by Hector who introduced himself and asked about our travel. From arrival to departure he addressed my mother as “grandma” (we had my daughter & niece traveling with us) and gave her the red carpet treatment. He alone made the trip special. The views from our room were incredible. We could see Madison Square Garden & the Empire State Building. Parking at the nearby parking garage was a breeze. Our room was clean and comfortable. Getting around the city was easy. We walked to Times Square. This hotel offers history of the city as well as great accommodations. I highly recommend the hotel.

+ Centrally located.
- Room too small.

+ Close to Times Square, transportation, safe neighbor.
- The room very small and not smell good. I paid for breakfast and I only get one fruit, one drink, and pastry and that's very cheap and I did not expect that.

+ Bathroom could be larger and a bit cleaner . Room was clean !
- Rooms are really suitable big, bathroom on the other hand is very small. We got a double bed room with 2 bathrooms, which was very nice. No view from the window, although on the 24th floor .
