Grand Excelsior Hotel Deira

When we first arrived, the hotel looked nice and decent, but our experience quickly went downhill. Checking in took 20-30 minutes, which was frustrating, and once we entered our room, the smell was unbearable. It became clear that the negative reviews we had read were true.

Not long after, I saw a cockroach in the hallway and another in the bathroom, and this became a daily occurrence. The telephone in our room didn’t work until the day we checked out, and while the shower was cold on the first day, it was eventually fixed.

We complained about the smell, and the staff offered to move us to another room. However, the new room smelled just as bad, and we even noticed what we believe was damp on the walls. With no better options, we decided to stay in our original room. To cope, we had to buy room sprays and scented sticks.

The air conditioning couldn’t be adjusted and made the room too cold, forcing us to turn it off entirely. This aggravated my asthma, leading to constant coughing and even difficulty breathing. During our stay, I had to use my asthma medication daily, something I hadn’t needed before arriving.

To make matters worse, there was a club nearby that played loud music late into the night. The constant banging made it extremely difficult to sleep, leaving us exhausted every morning.

Despite sharing with another adult and a young child, housekeeping only left one towel after each service. Since the phone in our room wasn’t working, I had to call from my sister’s room every time we needed extra towels.

Overall, this hotel is in desperate need of renovations. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone unless it undergoes significant improvements. Next time, I’ll make sure to check reviews thoroughly before booking a hotel.

This one was Sheraton hotel later the move to a new location and this company came but actually they don’t know how to operate and utilise , deceleration is old , water system is not good
