Somewhere Hotel Apartment in Dubai

One of the worst front office experiences I have ever encountered.
Having travelled across multiple countries and stayed at numerous hotels, I have never experienced such raw, unwelcoming and hostile behaviour from front office staff.

A day before arrival, I emailed the hotel requesting an early check-in since our flight landed at 8:30 AM and we expected to reach the hotel by 10 AM. They replied saying early check-in was chargeable, which I was completely fine with.

However, on arrival, despite seeing another guest being given early check-in right in front of me, the staff denied my request bluntly and without courtesy, even after mentioning my wife was unwell from overnight travel and that I was willing to pay the additional fee. Not even a basic gesture of offering water or concern was shown. To make it worse, the room was not ready until 3 PM, even though the official check-in time was 2 PM.

Throughout the stay, none of the front office staff showed hospitality—no smiles, no warmth, no effort to understand guest concerns. It felt like they simply did not care why they were in a service industry at all.

The only positive experience was with the housekeeping lady on the 8th floor and the bell boy,both extremely polite, attentive, and professional. They were the only ones who truly reflected what hospitality should look like.

If you are travelling with family or as a couple, I strongly do not recommend this hotel. The consistent first response from the front office is “No,” without even attempting to help. My trip to Dubai was amazing, but booking this hotel was the only mistake.

Im taking time to write this review to make sure it doesnt happen to other travellers.

I was disappointed with my stay at this property. The rooms were quite dirty, with visible stains on the bed throw and a noticeable layer of dust on the electronic switches. Service was also delayed on several occasions.

After checking out, I returned to collect my luggage and had informed the staff earlier that I had a late-night flight and would need to change clothes before leaving. However, I was refused access by to the cleaner bathroom on the first floor and was instead directed to use a common, dingy, and dirty restroom. The staff stated that I was “no longer a guest” and therefore could not use the better facilities.

This lack of hospitality and basic courtesy left a very poor impression. I would not recommend this hotel to travelers expecting cleanliness or considerate service.

The only good thing is the convenient location. Windows can’t open, bad smell from old furniture in the rooms, ac can’t be turned down, always about 22deg. Toilet flush was broken, no one cared to fix it. Also the toilet in the ground floor. The lobby looks nice but that’s as far as it goes. The check in service was extremely slow.. i’m sorry to write such a review but it was the reality..

One of the worst hotels that you could ever think of staying at. The service is really bad their security guards are unprofessional with their communication and their general manager is also rude and gives you the attitude of i am the boss here.

Thor Hotel location is wow but too pathetic hotel check in staff and there is no breakfast on breakfast time. I don’t want recommend to anyone.
