Reviews
I honestly usually never share bad opinions on places but I cannot not share this time because it could really be useful for someone considering staying at this hotel
I booked this hotel because of the location which I can’t deny is good if you want to visit the old town
And I asked before booking to have a quite room with no noise and they accepted my request saying they can satisfy it (lol when you know what happened after…)
The reality is that it is extremely noisy whatever the side of the building your room is (we changed once to try the other side if it would be better which absolutely wasn’t)
We haven’t been able to sleep at all
You will hear the road and the heavy traffic that is just down the hotel and the wall are extremely thin and the window not even closing properly depending on the room, making it completely useless to filter the outside noise
Plus, the room facing the sea are really hot and do not refresh at night (it’s October the nights are cool) so you have to sleep with the AC on which gives you a cold and is also quite loud by the way
And the cherry on the cake, we tried a room on the other side of the building facing the garden and had the municipality at 8am cutting trees down our window + the traffic road at nights that doesn’t really stop even on this side
When we finally decided after 2 nights that it would be impossible to spend another sleepless night here, we packed our stuff and asked gentely the family owner if we could have a refound (because we still had 4 nights there).
He took a very condescending attitude and told us that we were blaming the old and very historical building, that the noise tolerance is very subjective and that not any of the previous customers complained about that in 50 year, lol…
He was manipulating the conversation, and said that it was never written anywhere that is was a new building when I said that the old wood window wasn’t even closing… and added that it’s not his fault if a big road has been build under the hotel
Anyway, never go there, for 100€ the night it’s totally not worth the money
For sure the worst hotel experience I ever had
If I come back to Paphos, I will stay here again.
