Reviews
Had a few problems with cleaning but it was easy to gain access to the General Manager Mr.Ioannou who quickly got staff to make my problems right. Not 100% but a big improvement.
A little quiet for me but perfect for rest and relaxation in a beautiful setting.
Initially, we booked on a bed and breakfast basis but upgraded once there to the all inclusive package at a not unreasonable €40 per person per day. The rooms were clean and, in our experience, serviced daily with fresh sheets and towels supplied. A fridge could be hired for €5 per day and tea and coffee facilities hired for €2.50 per person per day.
The food was very good and plentiful at every meal time. It is a buffet style and the buffet can become very busy at times. However, if you are looking to spend a day at the hotel just chilling, sunbathing and generally lolling about in the pool, then the all inclusive package is definitely the one to go for. The only downside on the all inclusive package that I experienced was the fact that the drinks available on the all inclusive package were significantly inferior to the drinks that were available for customers not all inclusive and were paying on a ad hoc basis.
Bar prices were not too bad. Expect to pay €4 for a pint of KEO lager (recommended) if you are not all inclusive, €5 for a spirit with mixer and between €5.50 and €8 for a cocktail. €5 for a spirit and mixer may sound a lot but remember that the measures you get are significantly bigger than you would buy here in the UK.
The staff were very welcoming, friendly and very professional. A special shout out to Aphrodite to Maria in the Argonaut bar who made our stay truly memorable.
There is an adage that 'you get what you pay for' and with the Cynthiana you get a lot for your money! All in all, a fabulous place to stay and the place that we will be returning to very soon!
Rooms:
Our room was clean and not outdated, and it was cleaned daily. The room sizes are normal (room 504).
Staff:
The staff were friendly and always willing to help if we had any requests. Kudos for that!
Food:
Breakfast was almost the same every morning, but plenty of things to eat.
Dinner, well instead of serving English food like a lot of hotels, they have a theme for every day, which on most days was pretty good. When there's bad weather, you will have to sit inside, which means that it can be crowded, but when it's a nice day, you can sit outside and enjoy the nice view over the ocean.
Location:
There is not much to do in the area, so you need to rent a car or take the bus (2 euro for a one way/5 euro for a day ticket, and they go from the main road every 10/20 minutes). On the main road, you will find a couple of supermarkets. The private beach outside the hotel is free and there are plenty of beds, so there are no English tourists running every morning with their towels ;-). You can take a dive in a shallow part or go into the ocean and spot some fish. There is a mini-market next to the hotel during the day. There are 2 places nearby where you can get something to eat (can't say anything much about these places)."
The pool is lovely,
The staff are amazing, the manager is available to speak to every day, he says hello to everyone.
Aprohdrite the head barmaid is brilliant, she keeps a well stocked bar, branded stuff is reasonably priced. She seems to work 24/7 though,
All staff are very friendly and respectful from the beach bar to the restaurant, nothing us too much trouble.
My only ick is the salad bar could be covered more for hygiene reasons.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was good. Only rooms a bit outdated but still clean and with room service checking on it daily.
My recent stay at Chynthianas Hotel was initially pleasant, with good food and well-maintained rooms. However, my experience soured when I accidentally left my new universal charger in the room upon check-out.
Despite immediately contacting the hotel upon realizing my mistake, I was met with unhelpful responses. Firstly, I was told my room number did not exist, which is perplexing given my three-night stay. Secondly, I was instructed to call the next morning as housekeeping was unavailable, which is questionable for a hotel of this caliber.
Despite sending our bus driver the next morning to retrieve the charger, it was not found. Upon further inquiry the following day, I was informed that the charger was not located, which is disappointing and frankly unbelievable.
Such negligence and lack of accountability from the staff at Chynthianas Hotel have left me deeply dissatisfied with my experience. It is unacceptable for a hotel to mishandle and potentially withhold lost items from guests.
