Generator Hotel in Hamburg

Very nice Hostel, had a great stay! The woman named Samarah at the front desk was the best. Super friendly :) all in all a lovely stay

Location is superb, just opposite side of Central Station. The surrounding may seem a bit intimidating but I had no problem when arrived a bit late in the evening for check in. They had renovation going on and upgraded to private room at no extra cost. Room was fine for a solo traveller, but if a couple, it could have been a tad small. Pharmacy is on the opposite side (which I needed), Penny supermarket is close by. So is the bus and tram stops. Staffs at reception really nice and helpful. Would stay again if visit Hamburg.

I did not know, it will be Pride saturday (weekend) that day.. It was busy and loud area. The price was higher then usually because of that reason. I did not really checked the reviews, coz that was my emergency stay (i could not get on my flight). Anyway, everything was more expensive than in normal days.
I did not expect any warm greeting, so as I know in germany is not really about prioritizing the guests instead of chatting with mates..
The dorms are ok, nothing special, you have in every dorm toilette and bathroom, they are small but well maintained.
The beds are comfy and clean, if somebody is sleeping on the top of bed and moving, you will notice it.
I missed the curtain to have some privacy and dark to close my bed part. Not everyone is respecting that the people try to sleep or they dont feel good.
Road - street under the hostel is not really safe for single woman traveller, or maybe it was my personal feeling. I would not walk and hang around during dark.
The location is close to train station, for one night it is perfect.

Hi there! It was my second time at the hostel and I really like the rooms. The beds are sturdy. There are two things I would like to critique, the bathroom shower and the toilet are separate, which is nice, but super tiny and they feel a bit cheap. The other one, if you are female traveler like me, the dorm for only females is always much more expensive. This time the price difference was more than half the price Inpaid, last time it would have been double (!) the price compared to the mixed dormitory. To me this feels like a rip off of women trying to feel safe and comfortable while traveling! Please fix your pricing guidelines. Other than that I have been comfortable both times I stayed there.

Excellent location. Room very clean and surprisingly quiet.

The hotel is ideally situated right next to the central railway station. The staff is friendly and courteous, but the roommates can be a bit unusual. The beds are clean and comfortable, although the room layout is not particularly practical. There isn't sufficient space to store luggage, and the sink in the bathroom is somewhat challenging to use.
