I chose to celebrate my 50th birthday at the hotel and the hotel recognised this in the best possible way by putting a bottle of champagne in the room. A marvellous hotel that has earned all its stars. It is not a new hotel but of high quality.

100% recommended. THE best hotel in EUROPE. Would have been great to have breakfast included (for a 290 euro /night stay). But I can’t judge the pricing.

A family friendly hotel with a nice architecture in a quiet area. There’s a short walking distance to the center. The staff are friendly, but compared to the number of rooms and guests, theres too little staff at the service desk, so you usually would end up waiting in line for any inquiries.

The rooms are great. A lot of bronze and carpet but extremely clean, a lot of plugs, plenty of space in the shower and excellent WiFi. Unfortunately I couldn't give the breakfast or restaurant a try but they looked great!

We loved our stay at the Grand Elysée. Our room was spacious, the restaurants and bars were really good, and the staff was so kind to us and our three-year-old daughter. We couldn't have been happier with our time in Hamburg and a big part of the reason the trip was such a success was everyone at the Grand Elysée making us feel right at home. We'll be back!

I rated this hotel only 3 stars because one of the main reasons I chose the Grand Elysee Hotel was their laundry service. However, I was shocked when I saw the prices: they charged separately for every single item, and it was extremely expensive. All we needed was to have our basic laundry washed and dried. I could understand if it was for dry cleaning, but charging 4 euros for sports socks was unbelievable

We had a lovely room with a view. We didn't go to the restaurant or sauna so I can't comment on that. There was an awful smell that came out of the drain of the shower which made our last evening in the hotel unpleasant. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

We had a great stay at the Renaissance Hotel Hamburg. The comfort and service quality of the hotel were excellent. I would especially like to thank Ahmet, one of the front desk staff members. The hotel is generally OK but unfortunately they are happy to take a deposit upon check-in, which they do not return without intervention. I had to intervene twice to get the deposit back. The money was returned two weeks after the collection. I did not expect such practices in the Marriott chain. A small thing and I do not want to return.

My stay at the hotel was pleasant in most aspects, however, the noise isolation was exceptionally poor. I was privy to every little sound from the room next door, from showering and toilet flushing to even their conversations and television. I believe a 5-star hotel should prioritize a peaceful and quiet environment for its guests, which was unfortunately lacking in this instance.

Everything about this hotel is amazing. The location is perfect. While the rooms we had were very nice, and extremely spacious, but make sure you have the outward facing ones, as the view to the inside isn't great. But their service is amazing. I attended a concert, purchased a vinyl and forget it in the room. They were super kind and sent it to me via post, packaged extremely well and I received it without any damage.

The check-in and check out process was insanely slow which left me irritated on arrival and depparture. Half an hour for each. The fitness room did not meet my expecxtations for a 5-star hotel. This was a nice hotel. Location is just perfect! Right in the center of Hamburg, close to the main shopping street, lots of places around in walking distance. You can get there easily by car, public transport and of course taxi. From here you'll be able to do almost anything by foot in the center. Especially if you don't shy away from walking a bit. DING DONG we have a 5* Champion!! Easily one of the best hotels we ever stayed at. Very “old world” atmosphere, elegance and top class service. Definitely -1 point for a very complicated checkout where they can't handle modern credit cards (ApplePay) but rather need to write down numbers (which you obviously don't want) and even need to represent your card when just checkin out despite they've captured the charge before. Beautiful hotel & restaurants in Blankensee overlooking Hamburg & the Elbe. Has it's own underground parking. We visited the biergarten which provided great food from a limited menu at a very reasonable price. Half roast chicken, potato salad followed by huge portions of strawberry gateau. Super fancy hotel, with great restaurant. Surprisingly, when we went to have breakfast, the seats were very dusty. Really unexpected, but I am sure they have a reason for it. It should have never happened though.
