Hamburg, Rothenbaumchaussee 10 🧭 Map
Very beautiful Hotel! Loved it. I just don’t think the AC was working in room 548.. also the location? I’m not sure if it’s just Hamburg Germany , but there’s not much to eat late at night opened for snacks & couldn’t go in the hotel anywhere to buy snacks neither after a certain time. So that’s a bummer. Breakfast was alright , I was hoping they had syrup but they didn’t :(
A very classic property, well-maintained. Our room overlooked the central courtyard, and it was ideal: very quiet and peaceful. Breakfast had a good variety; even though it was always busy, the staff managed the crowds well. What could be improved? The room temperature in our room could have been colder; the temperature control was quite old, which made it hard to adjust accurately. Overall, a perfect...
Absolutely stunning hotel. Everything was perfect. The staff so helpful and friendly. Great English speaking. Hotel was beautiful. And the room was traditionally spectacular
The rooms are slightly outdated and a little bit musty. But the air conditioning works. The beds are a little bit hard. But the service is absolutely fantastic. The breakfast is fantastic. The spa and pool fantastic. I think it’s worth it overall. Hamburger is quite a surprisingly beautiful city and this is in a lovely university area close to the museums. I would definitely return with my family
A big 5 stars hotel, its location is just perfect! Near by a train station, the big lake, the best green and flower parks in the city, great options for restaurants and it’s located about 15-20 minutes walking distance from the city center. They have a nice rooftop with a beautiful panoramic views, just a pity the rooftop closes early around 10pm. Breakfast was nice and convenient with a good variety...
Nice clean hotel with a traditional (old) feel about it. Great pool open 7 to 10 and reasonable gym open 24/7. No iron available in room, need to go to central roning room. A little pricey for what you get. Good location near station and short walk to lake, restaurants and other attractions. Under ground parking.

Clean and comfy rooms alongside great roof top bar which allows you to have nice cocktails without moving away from the hotel. Staff is also very helpful.
Very noisy rooms.
Had to call reception on 2 occasions at 1.30 and 3.30am due to guests in next room blaring tv and partying until 5.30am. Reception attempted to contact them but the music was so loud they couldn't even hear them knocking at the door and had to gain entry via key card. Room was a connecting room, we were a family of 6 but were not given rooms next to each other. Upon checkout at ...
This was not the first time we stayed here and perhaps would choose it again.
Service: very kind and helpful reception. Breakfast service is also very helpful and nice. You are always greatest with a smile.
Room: nice and clean, anything you might require for your visit.
Breakfast: there are plenty of options for any tooth. There's all you need to start a healthy day.
Parking: a very convenient...
The hotel was nice and modern. The hotel restaurant was closed when we visited, but the breakfast room was good with plenty of coffee machines! Despite being between some busy roads, it was very quiet inside.
A special shout out to Claas, who gave us some helpful advice when we arrived. Several of the other staff spoke good English.
About 10mins walk to the underground station, bus stops are just at outside of the hotel, easy transport links to attractions. Many homeless people sleeping near the hotel, I didn’t feel comfortable walking back to hotel in the evenings.
Hotel is located in walking distance of Hamburg Hbf, which is very convenient! Small downside is, that there are quite some homeless people and ******* around these kind of areas. We observed a ****** who was checking out a stolen (?) bag for its content on two nights while we were walking back to the hotel.
Another advantage is the proximity of a car rental, which even allows for the cars to park...

Extended weekend to visit Hamburg Christmas market, food and coktails are great, room spacious and well equiped, excellent bed and location is good to access the various Christmas Markets. Breakfast buffet is on upper average for hotel of this class.
Will recommand / go back.
I’ve been knowing the Steigenberger for many years now. It is a decent hotel nicely located.
Unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant experience in November when I attended an award show in Hamburg.
Wanting to check out the next morning I was in a hurry and just wanted to hand my room card to the staffer as I always do. She was still busy with another guest which took very long. Since my taxi had also...
You get what you pay for. The perfect place to unwind in the evenings when you're away from home. A great bar/restaurant with a relaxing vibe and the breakfast is good. It's a little disappointing that the room tech (casting on TV, speakers on bathroom) didn't work - something I would expect a hotel of this calibre to do much better.
Well-located hotel in the heart of Hamburg with elegant rooms and a classic atmosphere. The service is professional and courteous, and breakfast is of very high quality. Some areas would benefit from renovation, but overall it still offers the refined standard and comfort expected from Steigenberger. A solid choice for both business and leisure stays.
We booked this hotel for a few days as we vacationed in hamburg and these are my only critiques:
First, even though the rooms were beautiful and the location of the hotel is 5 mins away from hamburg center, which is perfect, I'm sorry to say that the staff weren't the most helpful when it came to bestowing our luggages into and out of our car. As someone with plenty of luggage since i was traveling...
Great location for a city trip - main sights can be reached easily. Access to metro, shared bike directly in front of hotel. Rooms okay but do not expect the same service level/ quality compared to other steigenberger hotels.

Sofitel Am Alten Wall Hamburg Hotel
Hamburg, Alter Wall 40 🧭 Map
This was a nice hotel. Location is just perfect! Right in the center of Hamburg, close to the main shopping street, lots of places around in walking distance. You can get there easily by car, public transport and of course taxi. From here you'll be able to do almost anything by foot in the center. Especially if you don't shy away from walking a bit. Would stay again!
Great hotel, professional and kind service by the hotel staff. We came with a baby of 2 months old and they brought suitable accessories for him as well as baby shampoo. The location is perfect! Right in the middle of the luxurious shopping area.
Good hotel in it's class;. Some quirky design decisions in the room (window between bedroom and bathroom, shower head pointed at hole in shower door) but all the services worked well. The staff were particularly amiable. Few food choices nearby; it seems a bit isolated among business blocks, but the U and S bahns are convenient.
Great hotel. Great rooms! The beds are always so comfortable at Sofitel. Nothing wrong with this hotel & spa, but one point they're not doing well is the reception. The waiting times are just too long. So make sure you're ahead of your schedule and calculate the time lost when waiting to be served. It seems they need to shortened the check-in/out procedures and have more people at the reception. Other...
On of my favorites in Hamburg. Modern and very spacious rooms and architecture overall.
The beds are very comfortable and the rooms quiet. The only thing to mention is that air-conditioning can be loud.
The gym is small but very functional. Food/ Bar and Restaurant are great.
Stayed in this hotel on a business trip. Great hotel! Rooms are spacious and allow you to have a working space in the room. Spa is great. And the best - is the restaurant! Great drinks and food!

A hotel of great charm and elegance, located in a refined neighborhood. The room was spacious and equipped with every comfort, making the stay particularly enjoyable. The inner garden and the bar are truly spectacular, perfect places to relax in a refined atmosphere. Breakfast was exceptional, with a wide and high-quality selection, and the service was impeccable, always attentive and guest-oriented...
Nice hotel in city center. Good breakfast. High floor. Parking is good
The location is super convenient, 5-10 minutes walk to shopping street, Rathaus, Museum, etc., next to the hotel is alster, you can enjoy the view. Not bad, good!
Hamburg was the perfect starting point for our trip, and Hotel Atlantic made our stay truly memorable.
The location is excellent—just a short walk from the train station—which made getting in and out of the city incredibly convenient. It was a great base for exploring Hamburg for the first time.
After full days of walking and sightseeing, the hotel’s courtyard became our go-to spot to unwind. It...
Incredible hotel with helpful and friendly staff. The breakfast offers a buffet with a great variety as well as a included a la carte menu with a variety of hot dishes.
We had a wonderful stay. Classy hotel, not far from the main train station, in a nice part of the city. Rooms are very comfy with lots of nice details. Staff at reception are very nice and friendly. I think some area of the hotel is under renovation, as we could see from our room’s window, although we didn’t experience any noise. I think also the swimming pool is close at the moment.

We celebrated birthday with my husband here. It was really good decision to celebrate it in SIDE hotel. Service is 10/10, so comfy bed, quiet, clean. Spa is quite small but nice 😊
One of my favorite hotels that makes business travel much more enjoyable!
Starts with a fantastic breakfast with high quality and tasty dishes from omelette and eggs Benedict to their buffet with ample choice of bread, cheese, very fresh peeled fruits, fish etc etc and your usual bacon eggs pancakes etc. staff are all very friendly and helpful. Rooms are well designed, love that there is lots of...
We came to Hamburg for the lion king musical and chose to stay at the side hotel for 2 nights over the weekend.
The room was good but not overwhelming in size. The bed was comfy but it was not a kind size bed, other 5 star establishments had bigger beds before.
All in all the room was clean and functional. I liked the multiple storage options. The room looks a little boutique but old though not worn...
Our recent stay at SIDE Hotel Hamburg was a memorable experience that balanced thoughtful luxury with warm professionalism. While the hotel may show some signs of age in certain areas, what truly sets it apart—and earns it a full 5-star rating—is its exceptional staff, unbeatable location, and excellent value for money.
Let me start with what makes SIDE special:
The staff is the heart of this hotel...
Sleek modern architecture with a warm, stylish atmosphere. The lobby’s glass atrium and moody lighting set the tone. Rooms are clean, well-appointed, and surprisingly quiet. Service is professional, the rooftop and spa are standout perks. A great choice for design lovers seeking comfort in the heart of the city.
Room was nice, just the shutters opened unprompted during the night, although it was not windy.
We found the breakfast to be a little on the pricy side.

Hamburg, Neuer Jungfernstieg 9-14 🧭 Map
This is a very classic, old-style hotel with a strong sense of history and character. The rooms feel traditional, but that’s part of the charm.
The service was really good and definitely at the level you’d expect from this brand. The only downside was the ground-floor restaurant — when we visited in summer, there was no air conditioning, which made it quite uncomfortable.
Other than that, everything...
I stayed for one night at this hotel, and it was truly an exceptional experience.
The room was spacious, elegant, and extremely comfortable, with a bed and pillows that guarantee a perfect night’s sleep. The ventilation and room temperature were ideal, and everything was impeccably clean.
The bathroom was large, modern, and beautifully designed, with luxurious details that make a real difference....
From the arrival, the rooming, the Housekeeping Service twice daily...to the daily breakfast service...it was PERFECTION!!!
Having worked in the Hospitality Business myself for 32 years, I do understand how hard it is to maintain this high level of service each and every time.
Thank you for creating such unforgettable memories!
That was an amazing stay at the Vier Jahreszeiten, everything was beyond expectations for the service. Beautiful team at the breakfast which took good care of us and payed attention to each details.
The only thing was that I came here for my birthday but nothing as been done in the room, any cake to celebrate it or something else which I felt a bit left over as I booked this stay especially to celebrate...
I spent 4 unforgettable nights at this hotel during my first visit to Germany, and it truly exceeded all expectations. The cozy, classic ambiance made me feel at home, and all of the staff are truly born to serve—with attention to detail. I would definitely return here on my future visit to Hamburg.
The hotel is very good and clean. The front desk staff are very nice and enthusiastic. I was given drinking water when I checked out. When I checked in, the front desk staff accompanied me upstairs to tell me how to unlock the door, because I had to do two circles and then two circles on the right. I went out for a walk and came back to find that there was a turndown service. They cleaned it again...

Outstanding in service. Great breakfast. Well kept rooms but no glamour. Quiet location, remote from downtown Hamburg. Make sure you don't want to have any attractions within walking distance. Public transport available but takes time.
Nice enough hotel - comfortable, friendly staff, really great food and perfectly temperature controlled (not to be taken for granted for anyone, like me, that struggles with hotel thermostats! LOL). But I didn’t love it. It vaguely reminded me of 1970s architecture…but merely painted over with some lovely artwork and modern touches. You can still sort of smell the days of smoking indoors yore. The...
Stuff at the Spa and at the Restaurant were very nice, giving us all the time a little extra for our comfort and enjoyment. Food either for dinner or breakfast was absolutely delightful.
I've been coming to the Lindtner regularly for many years. I particularly like the fact that you can feel here that the hotel does not belong to a large group, but has always been family-run. Even during the crisis, no staff were laid off, and young people continue to be trained. This can be felt directly in the calm and honest friendliness of the service staff. The service is perfect and absolutely...
I was there for a seminar. The hotel is in a very quiet location opposite a park. There are enough parking spaces. The seminar was fully booked with 120 people. Long queues formed at the buffet and also in the toilet. You could eat at standing tables. Also the lunch. The door to the bedroom was difficult to open. There was a shower curtain in the bathroom. There was no swimming pool. The sauna was...
The conference rooms are o.k. but service needs to be much better. There was a power outage and the air was so dry that several people experienced nosebleeds. The rooms are just ok but the shower is too small and the curtains stick in your back when you take a shower! If the overnight stay had cost €80, I wouldn't mention these issues here. But more than 130€ was paid...

The Fontenay Hotel
Hamburg, 10 Fontenay 🧭 Map
This hotel is often considered one of the very best in Germany, so I was looking forward to my stay here. However, after the stay, I must say they missed on my expectations by a huge margin. Firstly, we arrived by car at around 8.30 pm. We drove right in front of the doors, and looked around to see if there was any staff to assist with our luggage or tell where to park. We waited for around 5 minutes...
A luxury hotel with excellent service in a prime location. The rooftop pool and the bar with a view over the Alster are particularly worth a visit.
Very good, friendly service staff, clean rooms, excellent location, rich breakfast, beautiful environment, complete facilities, the needs put forward can be realized quickly, I will stay here next time
We had an amazing stay. The Spa was great for the rainy Chrsitmas Time!
Everything was great, nice hotel.
Great breakfast as well as the bar and wellness area.
We stayed for breakfast and it was nice, but I think the price was a little bit too expensive for ‘just’ a breakfast. Other than that really impressive architecture and lobby area. They also have a cool looking bar for the evenings. Very friendly stuff members within the Fontenay.

Hamburg, Elbchaussee 401-403 🧭 Map
As a solo professional woman in her 50’s, it was my first time to Germany and I need not have worried or been so anxious about it. I reviewed about 15 hotels in Hamburg for my pre-cruise stay but was led to the Hotel St. Louis Jacob and was really glad I did. It’s the small things that makes a stay feel luxury and after being around the world, I loved the welcome card from Judith the GM. The hotel...
We stayed at this charming hotel at the beginning of February 2025. The neighborhood of the hotel is not like in a 1.8 million city, but you feel like in a nice village. The furnishings of the hotel are of a high standard. The staff in particular contribute greatly to the feel-good factor in this hotel. The breakfast buffet is lovingly prepared and very good products are offered. A positve place.
An excellent hotel on the banks of the Elbe. Luxurious rooms and comfortable, inviting communal areas. Friendly, efficient service throughout. There’s a car park, multiple buses stop outside or it’s a short walk to the ferry stop for Airbus or the centre of Hamburg.
No AC in the room!
Everything else was pretty good.
About a week before my stay, the hotel let me know of issues with the Ballsaal suite which led to a change of suites. My point of contact, Alexandra, was very professional, responsive and considerate, easily resolving my concerns. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a suite with a river view.
Both the suite and the hotel were beautiful and well-maintained, reflecting five-star...
Arrived late to the hotel but just managed to spend a some pleasant time in the sun at the terrace overlooking the Elbe. Arrived on a Monday, so not possible with half-board, but the small restaurant across the road provided good food. As always a good place to stay when in Hamburg or just travelling through

Good location: Supermarket, dining, subway station and so forth nearby
Hotel Facilities: High ceiling, clean room, kitchen and so forth providing a comfort stay
Front Desk: Very attentive
Overall, very satisfied.
The room is clean and big, with free drinks in the refrigerator. But it's a bit noisy because of the ambulance passing by on the street
I really like the style and design of the hotel. The service staff is enthusiastic and professional. There is free self-service coffee. The location is good and the transportation is convenient.
One of the best hotels I've stayed in Europe. It's comfortable in all aspects, fully equipped with a cloakroom and kitchenette, a safe and a coffee machine. Every time they clean, they will refill the drinks in the refrigerator and put the bed covers back on. The mattress is very comfortable, the room is large and soundproofed, the supplies are all L'Occitane Sage, and they will actively restock them...
Service is good and the room is well equipped with kitchenette available - however parking is an issue over the weekend as the nearby car park is closed. Slightly damaged furniture in the room.
