I chose to celebrate my 50th birthday at the hotel and the hotel recognised this in the best possible way by putting a bottle of champagne in the room. A marvellous hotel that has earned all its stars. It is not a new hotel but of high quality.

100% recommended. THE best hotel in EUROPE. Would have been great to have breakfast included (for a 290 euro /night stay). But I can’t judge the pricing.

A family friendly hotel with a nice architecture in a quiet area. There’s a short walking distance to the center. The staff are friendly, but compared to the number of rooms and guests, theres too little staff at the service desk, so you usually would end up waiting in line for any inquiries.

The rooms are great. A lot of bronze and carpet but extremely clean, a lot of plugs, plenty of space in the shower and excellent WiFi. Unfortunately I couldn't give the breakfast or restaurant a try but they looked great!

We loved our stay at the Grand Elysée. Our room was spacious, the restaurants and bars were really good, and the staff was so kind to us and our three-year-old daughter. We couldn't have been happier with our time in Hamburg and a big part of the reason the trip was such a success was everyone at the Grand Elysée making us feel right at home. We'll be back!

I rated this hotel only 3 stars because one of the main reasons I chose the Grand Elysee Hotel was their laundry service. However, I was shocked when I saw the prices: they charged separately for every single item, and it was extremely expensive. All we needed was to have our basic laundry washed and dried. I could understand if it was for dry cleaning, but charging 4 euros for sports socks was unbelievable

This hotel promises a lot when you enter the beautiful lobby and reception area. It's grand. Unfortunately it doesn't deliver when it comes to the room we booked. We stayed in the King Medium room but it was much smaller than on the photos, there was literally no space to put your suitcase anywhere even though they had put a stand for it in the room. It was an interior room with a view into other hotel...

Warm welcoming, Fast checking In, Nice look rooms, But: 1- heating was not working (bring warm clothes with you) 2- found two alive spiders in my room corners 3- bed textile was not clean ... and i got very uncomfortable with this

My Aunt Susan and I just spent several days at the centrally located Reichshof Hotel. The inside of the hotel is beautiful (dating back to 1910), and the staff is exceedingly professional and helpful. The director, Kathrin, brings in delicious locally grown products; and Emil's Café, with its charming waiters (outstanding among whom is the endearing Kay), adds life and flavor to the hotel.

We had a very nice weekend stay with my friends here. Helpful and friendly staff. Clean rooms, well insulated, and comfortable beds. Due to the short stay we did not try the wellness center and we chose to eat breakfast outside (there are some wonderful bakeries and breakfast hot spots in the city), but based on the rest of my experience I trust these are up to par. I am a Platinum member of Bonvoy and have traveled quite a lot. Short summary - loved the experience :-) The restaurant was amazing for dinner and breakfast. This hotel is very good and convenient for family . The service and staff during the breakfast time is outstanding. I can’t recommend better place in Hamburg. The location and price are very ok .

Exceptional service, clean rooms, friendly multi-lingual staff! Interior decor is warm and welcoming however the bar is on a lower level than the overall service and management should hire a bit more staff because they’re often overwhelmed but it’s recommended for a couple of nights and the area is relatively calm.

Standard of rooms as expected in a four-star hotel. Very good breakfast with variety of food. The staff helpful and nice. The free of charge gym and parking (next to the hotel) is a big advantage. Very convinient location - in the neighborhood access to the buses to the city center, Altona and DESY (Volkspark).

While the rooms we had were very nice, and extremely spacious, but make sure you have the outward facing ones, as the view to the inside isn't great. But their service is amazing. I attended a concert, purchased a vinyl and forget it in the room. They were super kind and sent it to me via post, packaged extremely well and I received it without any damage.

The building is great, we enjoyed a spacious and smart room with a wonderful harbour view. The staff was very helpful but the gym is small with no treadmills. Shopping and options to buy water or healthy snacks are limited. The check-in and check out process was insanely slow which left me irritated on arrival and depparture. Half an hour for each. The fitness room did not meet my expecxtations for a 5-star hotel. Breakfast was ok, but i expected more. The view is what you pay for in this hotel. Rooms held i high standard, i only hoped the rest of the hotel held the same standard. I will not come back.

5 star beautiful hotel in an amazing location close to the main attraction sites, restaurants, and coffee shops. My room was updated in a tasteful and chic way. The front desk were kind and helpful. The location is in a safe and rich area, and conveniently minutes from the train station. I would definitely come back.

A bit noisy due to the subway proximity. Great bedroom, great breakfast. Service is very good. Room service very expensive for what it is. 46€ for a chicken curry with rice and a tiramisu. Reception struggle to find my booking so they gave me a free glass of wine and snacks. Very kind.

This was a nice hotel. Location is just perfect! Right in the center of Hamburg, close to the main shopping street, lots of places around in walking distance. You can get there easily by car, public transport and of course taxi. From here you'll be able to do almost anything by foot in the center. Especially if you don't shy away from walking a bit. Would stay again!

Great hotel, professional and kind service by the hotel staff. We came with a baby of 2 months old and they brought suitable accessories for him as well as baby shampoo. The location is perfect! Right in the middle of the luxurious shopping area.

Good hotel in it's class;. Some quirky design decisions in the room (window between bedroom and bathroom, shower head pointed at hole in shower door) but all the services worked well. The staff were particularly amiable. Few food choices nearby; it seems a bit isolated among business blocks, but the U and S bahns are convenient.

On of my favorites in Hamburg. Modern and very spacious rooms and architecture overall. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms quiet. The only thing to mention is that air-conditioning can be loud. The gym is small but very functional. Food/ Bar and Restaurant are great.

Stayed in this hotel on a business trip. Great hotel! Rooms are spacious and allow you to have a working space in the room. Spa is great. And the best - is the restaurant! Great drinks and food!

My niece had her wedding here. The staff were very attentive and not overbearing. The food was a beautiful buffet dinner which we thoroughly enjoyed. The location is beautiful and we can't wait to go back for tea at the fireplace . Also, it's dog friendly !

DING DONG we have a 5* Champion!! Easily one of the best hotels we ever stayed at. Very “old world” atmosphere, elegance and top class service. Some of the bar staff is friendlier and more personable than others, the breakfast is spectacular and our room was amazing with a great view of the Alster. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Amazing location right next to the lake yet still have the residential quite neighborhood. Just a couple corner away from the tourist area, and amazing food in the bar to make sure you still get your food during Christmas period. 👍

This is one of thee most astounding Hotels that we've every stayed at, and we're globetrotters 🌍🧭 It reminded me of the Ritz in Paris. One of the best hotel views if you stay at the top floors as we did. Otherwise a average hotel, should be better for the price we paid. No basic stuff like iron and so on. Come on? Breakfast was good. Will not stay again when in Hamburg next time.

The hotel building is very majestic from the outside with a beautiful view of the river. The room is very cozy and beautiful, windows to the floor. The windows overlook the city. On the 20th floor there is an excellent bar - cocktails and music, night Hamburg is super!!!!

Really excellent hotel. Most of all helpful staff. Nothing is too much trouble. I needed some help locating and storing some deliveries for a large trade fair and they were as helpful as could. Rooms are spacious and clean and the restaurant and the bar on the 20th floor are both excellent. Breakfast is expansive and will set you up for the day.

Lovely, friendly modern hotel. Some early teething problems, but never mind. Blue sink light takes some getting used too and personally I like a bath tub, not just a shower.

Very comfortable and quiet hotel for a good price. It is a bir far from the city center, but don’t worry, because you can easily take the bus 5 to Hbf or change to subway U3 to reach popular spots. I can recommend this hotel as a solo traveler.

Mixed review The team and service is fantastic They were also able to have me back after my flight got cancelled and team was so nice I realize this is very personal and different for everyone. At breakfast the server brought me a mini chocolate cake for my birthday. It was so nice 😊. Fantastic breakfast, by the way, and a lovely spa on the top floor. The room are fantastic, nice design and modern style. The hotel, bar and restaurant are also with a nice design and style. Staff is friendly. The only suggestion that I can give is to increase the intensity of light in the room, the light are to soft that to looking inside my baggage I used the torch of my phone.

Lovely hotel if you're young and up to date with IT. I found the room dark and cold. The staff were efficient, but unfriendly. The exception was when we ate in the restaurant, the waiter(s) were excellent.

Our stay started on a Monday. The hotel is very modern looking and had a lot of funk to it. The staff wasn't very friendly, day or night staff. You had to send an email to obtain an iron. While they responded quickly, it certainly wasn't convenient to find the website and then send an email to house services. The East Experience is spectacular! Very nice concept, great staff and amazing interior deco. Rosario is an amazing host! Only weak spot is the indication in the underground car park. We took the elevator in U2 and had to walk 600m with luggage after a 600km drive. Having clear signage of which elevator to take would have made this stay heavenly!

Have been here twice. The first time was already a couple of years back. In the meantime the rooms have not changed and you can see that some furniture is slightly worn by now. Breakfast is good.

We stayed for a long weekend in Hamburg and explored, despite the serious disability of my wife, mostly by public transport to the city. A bus stop is directly in front of the Hotel and the use of the Compounds was also for Bus and train unskilled described very well. The interior is lovely and the hotel is very quite. The area is just perfect for walks and strolls around the Alster, Buses just stop in front of the hotel, but you could walk towards the inner city or central station. There are plenty of Cafes and Restaurants around.

Classy hotel, great service, fantastic bar and restaurant. If visiting, business or pleasure, try it out. I am pretty sure you will return. I did and will continue using The George for my trips to Hamburg.
