Where to stay in Hamburg

Location is a bit out from the city center, but there is a station close by which is only a 10 minute commute! There is a supermarket near by, but not much else to be doing in the area. Decent kitchen, but mildly frustrating having to pay a 20€ deposit everytime you need a pot/pan/plate/fork, but no big deal at the end of the day.

For the price it was actually pretty good - very cheap - but were the hostel was its a no go - we got a room in the 8th floor & took the stairs because the elevator was to slow and small But for the room it was only ok - the room was pretty modern and big - on the ground was stained blood - there was no wardrobe to put clothes in - I had to do myself the bed sheeting - there was no amenities...

Good value for money and very conveniently located. Plenty of street parking is usually available in the surrounding area. It's a short 15-minute walk to the East Side Gallery, where you can see the 'Fraternal Kiss' mural. The property has three buildings, so make sure to ask the front desk which one your room is in before you head up, to save yourself an unnecessary walk.

The rooms are slightly outdated and a little bit musty. But the air conditioning works. The beds are a little bit hard. But the service is absolutely fantastic. The breakfast is fantastic. This hotel is one of the best in Hamburg. Its location is a major highlight. The harbor, city center, Reeperbahn, Fish Market, and Speicherstadt are all within easy walking distance. The rooms are very clean, and the bathrooms have been renovated. We had a wonderful stay.

we spent one night on our trip to Denmark in this hotel. welcome by the reception was very cool. there is only one small lift to take your luggage to the room. room and bath room is small with no airco. breakfast buffet is very good. as the name of the hotel says it is vey close to the harbour.

Hotels in Hamburg were expensive during my stay, and this was no exception. I did not see before I booked that to access the hotel you have to walk 100 stairs up from the harbour side station. That or go to another station and walk past a homeless hostel near the Reeperbahn where lots of men were sitting drinking and waiting for the hostel to open. The hotel location is quite a bit distance away from nearest bus stop or train station. Do your homework before decide staying here as bringing luggage is not that convenient. We stayed in the hotel for two nights. A baby bed was arranged at the last minute. The hotel location is near to the bus stop and SBahn.The rooms were clean and there was timely housekeeping services. The hotel has variety of breakfast for both vegetarians and non vegetarians.

Everything great! We were a family and were placed on a connected family room, that was 2 rooms together, so we had 2 toilets. The rooms were a bit small, but the fact we had two was perfect! Really nice decorated, staff really friendly and room really clean. Little line for breakfast which was understandable because you get seated. Cons: The room was a bit small and I was expecting more from the breakfast the food range was limited (apart boiled eggs there was no warm food...) I would recommend another hotel in Hamburg (Madison Hotel) which is closer and better overall, if the price difference is not a problem.

The rooms are a bit small, but good value for money. However, the staff during breakfast were very rude, allowing entry to breakfast as if interrogating guests. I would not choose this hotel again. 10 out of 10 for the reception staff.

Very nice building, sort of small rooms but very clean and cozy ones. My room was in the 19th floor and you get the chance to have an awesome view of the city, though it'd be better if you could get a view of the lake nearby. I really enjoyed staying in this hotel and I'll definitely try it in my next trips.

We had a wonderful stay. Classy hotel, not far from the main train station, in a nice part of the city. Rooms are very comfy with lots of nice details. Staff at reception are very nice and friendly. Surprisingly, Holiday Inn Hamburgh was a perfect place which is 15 minutes away from the airport and 20 minutes to the city center. The staff members are friendly and accommodating. Great food also for breakfast and tasty crispy chicken burger.

Almost perfect for the price. First of all, it's very cheaper than other accommodations. I wanted a room which didn't need to be fancy but cheap and not a dormitory room and this hostel had the one. the hostel is well located too, I could walk to Hamburg harbor. The room was small and not soundproof but it fulfilled my needs.

If I'm being honest. The place itself is a little strange and half the shared toilets are nackered but the rooms are clean and the beds are comphy. It's an incredible location in Hamburg with a staff always willing to help. However, the room lacked an electric kettle, which I'm just used to being in a hotel room, and neither the HDMI nor the casting worked on the TV. Minor details, but very important for some. All that being said, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay!

The Barcelo is located about 5 minutes walk from the main train station but in a quiet area. The rooms themselves are very clean, ultra modern and elegantly decorated in light colours. The bed is very comfortable and the shower and bathroom facilities were excellent. Having a laptop sized safe is also extremely convenient. Location: Bus stop in front of the hotel. You can reach the central station in half an hour. The hotel is quite clean, though the hotel itself is a bit old. The design of the bedside lamp is very uncomfortable. It’s not on the side but at the back of the bed. You may hurt your head or back if you want to leaning. We don’t have the time to enjoy the sauna or fitness so nothing to share about this.

This was a nice hotel. Location is just perfect! Right in the center of Hamburg, close to the main shopping street, lots of places around in walking distance. You can get there easily by car, public transport and of course taxi. From here you'll be able to do almost anything by foot in the center. Especially if you don't shy away from walking a bit. Great hotel, professional and kind service by the hotel staff. We came with a baby of 2 months old and they brought suitable accessories for him as well as baby shampoo. The location is perfect! Right in the middle of the luxurious shopping area.

Good hotel in it's class;. Some quirky design decisions in the room (window between bedroom and bathroom, shower head pointed at hole in shower door) but all the services worked well. The staff were particularly amiable. Few food choices nearby; it seems a bit isolated among business blocks, but the U and S bahns are convenient.

On of my favorites in Hamburg. Modern and very spacious rooms and architecture overall. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms quiet. The only thing to mention is that air-conditioning can be loud. The gym is small but very functional. Food/ Bar and Restaurant are great.
