Hamburg, Spaldingstrasse 160 🧭 Map
I found a&o Hostels online and was honestly surprised by how nice and well-organized the ones in Hamburg and Vienna are. They’re perfect for someone like me who travels a lot. You can tell the place was designed by someone who really understands what travelers need.
Both hostels are close to bus and train stations, which makes getting around super easy. They’re also very affordable—especially if you...
This a&o hostel is very nice, at a good location one stop from Hauptbahnhoff (Central station) or a 23 min walk. There’s a Kaufland (a big grocery store) nearby, near the station Berliner Tor (10 min walk).
The lobby is big and has many seats and a huge table with a lot of outlets to charge your devices.
The room was great too. I loved the bathroom, there’s a heated drying rack there. And there’s...
Shady neighbourhood and in construction. But that is the general state of the city. As a woman I didn’t feel safe walking around at night there. The hotel is better than its surrounding but again mostly men stay there, or group of men, which doesn’t make it safer. Luckily there was one woman working there (that we saw) but she was super rude. The other staff was nice and helpful. The room was basic...
Location is a bit out from the city center, but there is a station close by which is only a 10 minute commute! There is a supermarket near by, but not much else to be doing in the area. Decent kitchen, but mildly frustrating having to pay a 20€ deposit everytime you need a pot/pan/plate/fork, but no big deal at the end of the day.
For the price it was actually pretty good
- very cheap
- but were the hostel was its a no go
- we got a room in the 8th floor & took the stairs because the elevator was to slow and small
But for the room it was only ok
- the room was pretty modern and big
- on the ground was stained blood
- there was no wardrobe to put clothes in
- I had to do myself the bed sheeting
- there was no amenities...
Not enough large and quick lifts for this very large building and its huge amount of rooms.
Hopefully I was on first floor so it's ok.
Wifi is disconnecting every couple of minutes (in room 158) which is very annoying.
Coffee machine at the lobby is poorly maintained, clean cups are not regularly refilled.
The way from Berlinor Tor (U & S bahn Station) is under improvement works.
That means a huge...

Very convenient location, just a short walk from the station. The interior was modern and the room was lovely for us.
The hotel has a nice atmosphere and the room we stayed in was fine however I can't give it a full score due to the lack of an in room fridge. I inquired about this and was told only the suites have a fridge. This is a pity because customers pay good money for a nice hotel and expect basic comforts. I don't buy the line about it being for the environment, more likely a cost saving. If it was about the...
The Reichshof Hotel offers a fantastic blend of historic charm and modern comfort. The staff was incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful, handling our check-in swiftly. Our room was spacious and clean, and the beautiful Art Deco building is a standout. Its location is a major plus—right by Hamburg Central Station, making it super easy to explore the city's attractions on foot
A lovely and clean hotel in excellent location. Friendly staff and great breakfast.
The perfect location in Hamburg for your stay. An easy walk to the Alster, the museums and the shopping district, and the main railway station is a minute or two from here, as well as all the fantastic local cafes and restaurants. The staff are friendly and helpful, although little to no English is spoken here, so brush up on your German before travelling. Breakfast is plentiful and first class, the...

Very beautiful Hotel! Loved it. I just don’t think the AC was working in room 548.. also the location? I’m not sure if it’s just Hamburg Germany , but there’s not much to eat late at night opened for snacks & couldn’t go in the hotel anywhere to buy snacks neither after a certain time. So that’s a bummer. Breakfast was alright , I was hoping they had syrup but they didn’t :(
A very classic property, well-maintained. Our room overlooked the central courtyard, and it was ideal: very quiet and peaceful. Breakfast had a good variety; even though it was always busy, the staff managed the crowds well. What could be improved? The room temperature in our room could have been colder; the temperature control was quite old, which made it hard to adjust accurately. Overall, a perfect...
Absolutely stunning hotel. Everything was perfect. The staff so helpful and friendly. Great English speaking. Hotel was beautiful. And the room was traditionally spectacular
The rooms are slightly outdated and a little bit musty. But the air conditioning works. The beds are a little bit hard. But the service is absolutely fantastic. The breakfast is fantastic. The spa and pool fantastic. I think it’s worth it overall. Hamburger is quite a surprisingly beautiful city and this is in a lovely university area close to the museums. I would definitely return with my family
A big 5 stars hotel, its location is just perfect! Near by a train station, the big lake, the best green and flower parks in the city, great options for restaurants and it’s located about 15-20 minutes walking distance from the city center. They have a nice rooftop with a beautiful panoramic views, just a pity the rooftop closes early around 10pm. Breakfast was nice and convenient with a good variety...
Nice clean hotel with a traditional (old) feel about it. Great pool open 7 to 10 and reasonable gym open 24/7. No iron available in room, need to go to central roning room. A little pricey for what you get. Good location near station and short walk to lake, restaurants and other attractions. Under ground parking.

Hamburg, Congressplatz 2 🧭 Map
I have had the occasion to stay at this hotel several times travelling as air crew and I've always had a very enjoyable stay.
This hotel itself it's quite iconic since it's located very close to the old town of Hamburg, just next to Dammtor train station, Stephansplatz metro station and directly linked to the Congress Center Hamburg, and it's itself one of the tallest buildings of the entire city....
This is a great hotel except for the lifts. The room was good, the view was great. Breakfast was good and plenty of choice. Staff friendly and the bar was good.
However the lifts were just slow and loud. If you have a room near them then you will be awake all night. And they are inefficient to use having to wait ages for one to arrive and then it's usually full so you have to wait again. Shame as...
Friendly check-in and quick rectification of an issue (reassignment to a quieter room away from elevator shaft). Beautiful views from 25th floor. Older hotel (bathrooms could be bigger with more space for personal items). No coffeemakers even in superior rooms. Firm mattress and adjustable climate controls made for good sleep. Very satisfying buffet breakfast, too. Appreciated the two bottles of water...
To be honest I stayed here like 10 years ago . The location was outstanding. Just in the middle of everything 😃, I also remember a beautiful garden just next to it ( was actually my room view ) . I also remember that the day of my arrival we missed the flight and were over 14 hours late. And our friends asked them to make us meals or so . Because it was a horrible day for us , they actually agreed...
The tallest hotel in Hamburg, with a large botanical garden in front. You can walk to the University of Hamburg after crossing the road. The transportation is convenient, and you can also walk to the Inner Alster Lake in front of the City Hall.
3 night break to visit Hamburg. Great location next to lovely park with pretty gardens. You can walk to the river through the park in about 30 minutes. Also 10-15 minutes from the city centre. Great breakfast. Comfortable and clean room with very large and comfortable bed. We are in the rooftop restaurant (26th floor) on a Saturday night - booking is recommended. It offers Middle Eastern inspired sharing...

I've stayed at Scandic Hamburg Emporio over the last few years. About 2-3 ish years, the first time I ever went here they tried to be the best possible.
This hotel has a lounge program that not every Scandic hotel has. The first time I got here there were signs everywhere to call a specific line to the reception and they would immediately refill the lounge. Just a year after, they removed that. It...
Had a fantastic stay! The staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The location is perfect – close to everything but still quiet and relaxing. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!
Nice hotel, great staff. The room had zero ventilation, and the water pressure was very low. Shower handle didn't fit in the wall mount. Over all quite nice hotel though.
Er stayed one night at Scandic Hamburg Emporio and had a very good experience overall. Upon arrival, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and check-in was quick and smooth.
We had connecting rooms, which worked well for our family. The rooms were clean, modern, and nicely designed. The hotel itself feels fresh and well-maintained. Parking was easy and the price fair.
The breakfast buffet was good...
We had a Superior Plus Double Room with access to the lounge "Living Room". The room was amazing, big, clean and high standard. The living room was just across the hall and was a nice shared area where just a few had access. There we could have our breakfast, have bread and cheese mid day and soup in the afternoon. Wine, beer, coffee and lemonade where available all the time. All of this was included...
Fantastic staff that were always service minded and friendly. Good breakfast and comfortable rooms, we were upgrade to a suite. We were there during a heatwave and the kids could play in the fountains outside while we had a drink. Good location to visit the major tourist attractions i Hamburg. Hamburg, Wikingerweg 2 🧭 Map
One of my best stays in Germany. The room was spacious, very clean, and I especially loved the strong hair dryer. The bed was also very comfortable.
The only downside: The hotel is about a 12–15 minute walk from the nearest train station, but the route is not pedestrian-friendly, especially if you’re carrying luggage. During my stay, there was road construction, and we had to drag our suitcases across...
Great stay. Everything comfortable and professional service from front desk.
We had a relatively good stay at this hotel, but finding it on the first day was quite difficult. Our flight was delayed and we arrived at the station very late at night. Due to ongoing construction work in the area, it can be challenging to reach the hotel especially if you're carrying a lot of luggage. If you choose to walk through the nearby park, be aware that some of the paths are unpaved.
Aside...
Clean, quiet, big rooms but very far away from everything. No restaurants nearby and not easy to get groceries. A short stay for business is good. Not recommended for families and holidays.
Friendly front desk, good housekeeping, spacious room with a nice layout, good linen, excellent air conditioning, stable Wifi even in a distant room, nice TV setup. It should be mentioned that a mini fridge is only available in suites. And please be aware that Berliner Tor is a permanent construction site. Don't plan to arrive at the hotel by train or subway. Do yourself a favor, take a taxi and thank...

Hamburg, Reeperbahn 1a 🧭 Map
Not so helpful staff. I visited the hotel during Reeperbahn Festival so I guess it was a bit stressful conditions. But anyway - not welcoming, quite inattentive and a bit bored. Rooms - very average.
The room itself is fine, clean, quiet and spacious. While the front desk staff could be much more nicer, indifferent.
Excellent in all aspects except for the horrendous music they play all day long in the lobby. It is incredibly bad...like the proverbial "elevator music" but piped into the lobby. Other than that the staff were lovely, really friendly and efficient. Breakfast excellent too. I really like this hotel...my wife thought so too.
One of the best hotels I stayed in Hamburg.
Space rooms, clean, great location, quiet place to rest and my dog was in heaven.
Breakfast was good and it is opened long every day.
Check out later than many other places.
Bar has good atmosphere and very helpful stuff.
I think about going there this summer and I will definitely check the prices in other to stay there again.
Well located hotel . Clean and modern . Service was up to standards.
This hotel is very good in every place. The front desk was very enthusiastic when we arrived that night. They introduced the hotel's features and found comfortable pillows and quilts for us. The hygiene and surrounding environment were also good. However, the only drawback was that there was no exercise room and breakfast was served outside the hotel, not inside the hotel.

Hotel Hafen Hamburg
Hamburg, Seewartenstr. 9 🧭 Map
Hotel Hafen is a good hotel, perfectly located for a holiday in Hamburg. Our experience, however, was that the room didn't live up to its online description. It was a very small room overlooking a backyard, with a train line running right outside, making it noisy when the window was open. It was quite a shame that there was such a significant discrepancy between the room advertised online and the one...
This hotel is one of the best in Hamburg. Its location is a major highlight. The harbor, city center, Reeperbahn, Fish Market, and Speicherstadt are all within easy walking distance. The rooms are very clean, and the bathrooms have been renovated. We had a wonderful stay.
we spent one night on our trip to Denmark in this hotel. welcome by the reception was very cool. there is only one small lift to take your luggage to the room. room and bath room is small with no airco. breakfast buffet is very good. as the name of the hotel says it is vey close to the harbour.
This hotel is an absolute must, a true icon of Hamburg. We had a truly wonderful time here, and the breakfast is absolutely delicious.
Hotels in Hamburg were expensive during my stay, and this was no exception. I did not see before I booked that to access the hotel you have to walk 100 stairs up from the harbour side station. That or go to another station and walk past a homeless hostel near the Reeperbahn where lots of men were sitting drinking and waiting for the hostel to open. I think this needs to be better publicised before...

I really enjoyed my stay at Movenpick Hamburg. The hotel is inside an old building that was water tower and has been rebuilt with great care and it feels special the moment you sleep.

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel — the location is good, the breakfasts are tasty, the wellness centre is well-maintained (the sauna zone is great) and the staff are friendly (a big thank you to Ole)!
Particularly attractive is that they truly made use of the water tower — I really enjoyed the designs and decorations there.
But some things could be improved:
1. The sound insulation in the rooms...
The hotel is in a good location with convenient public transportation.
There are many dining options nearby and the breakfast is also good.
There is a park nearby with beautiful scenery, suitable for walking.
The environment is very quiet, suitable for people who like quiet.
The hygiene is slightly worse, and some waiters are not professional enough, there is room for improvement.
The hotel was beautiful, and the receptionist was very friendly. They had very nice details for our honeymoon.

was excellent — everything was clean and perfect. The room was spacious, and the breakfast was very good. I easily checked in using the self-service machine.
I booked the hotel for business trip, is good.
very close to the Bahn station and two supermarket around, it is super.
But water temperature is very unstable when bathing.
Laundry service is bad and take long time…..
The hotel is quite new, and the bed was very comfortable. It's conveniently located with supermarkets downstairs and close to the subway station. Key card access to the upper floors felt quite secure. On the downside, the room's amenities were rather limited, and our business room didn't even come with a kettle.
The hotel's location is fantastic; it's perfectly situated between Amsterdam Central Station and the airport, and just a minute's walk from the metro station. Getting around is incredibly convenient. The hotel itself is also very pleasant, and I would definitely keep it in mind for future visits!
Clean, friendly staff, bed is comfortable, ideal for business travellers
Great place especially convenient to CBD from train station which is just opposite the hotel. REMA just next door
The hotel is close to Barmbek station, which is well connected to the inner city of Hamburg. My room was located on the second floor. It was very spacious and well equipped. A comfortable bed and quiet at night - these are very important aspects that this hotel fulfilled. Nice and helpful staff. I recommend staying at IntercityHotel Hamburg-Barmbek.

Love the hotel, location and cleanliness. The only issue is that the air conditioning goes off if the outside temperature falls below 20 degrees. The problem is that even though it may be 19 outside, it can still be quite warm and uncomfortable inside. The hotel’s solution is offering fans, which don’t help much.
Nice rooms, can so take a bit of rennovation here and there, but clean and tidy. Friendly Service personell, good breakfast, underground car park, near to public transport
Good location, but extremely noisy. You can hear the street 24/7 because the windows aren't soundproof. Friendly staff.
Very noisy area, heard traffic (with cars honking and ambulances going by) all night. This was on level 7. Could hear people in the corridor much louder than usual on other hotels.
Reception very friendly, although gave no sympathy or real explanation for us having to evacuate the room in the middle of the night (just said it was kinda a false alarm).
Room interior very nice and clean, good shower...
Great location, the rooms are fine, but IT DOES NOT HAVE AIR CONDITIONER. Do not get fooled like I did, the air conditioner they advertise is not true, and their solution is for you to sleep with the window and dor open, which is absurd for them to even suggest this.
* Friendly staff, even though there was an apprentice welcoming us with very limited knowledge of English
* The room was small and had no view (first floor) at all
* The parking was really small and expensive
* Overall, the hotel was very expensive for the value (180 Euros/night). At that price, one can have much better service in high standing hotels in world capitals

About 10mins walk to the underground station, bus stops are just at outside of the hotel, easy transport links to attractions. Many homeless people sleeping near the hotel, I didn’t feel comfortable walking back to hotel in the evenings.

Excellent stay. Immaculate service. Location right smack in the middle of luxury.
No toothbrush, no toothpaste, and when I ask the staff to bring me water to my room they said I have to come down to get it. A truly beautiful hotel with lovely rooms that are large and clean. The bed is very comfortable. The staff is outstanding; they are all very, very nice. The hotel is centrally located behind the main train station. However, the walk there alone is a bit daunting as a woman.
Everything was great: clean, and the room was nice. The iron arrived immediately after ordering it at reception. Friendly staff, good location with plenty of bars and restaurants around the corner, and the main train station within walking distance.
Close to metro, 15 minutes walk to Altstadt. Clean and comfortable room, big bathroom. We waited in line for a long time for check in and breakfast.
The hotel's sanitation and environment are very satisfactory, the location is excellent, and the service staff is warm and thoughtful.
Close to the train station, the surrounding environment needs to be safe
