I've tried a douzend hotels in St. Pauli; among them some high recommended ****-locations. Definitely, Hotel North is THE VERY BEST (that's why I stayed here for more than 2 weeks :-) AGREED: You can have a good party outside: BUT: Staying here in your cosy room, having a superior service and enjoying the sunny balcony with a great view on the Reeperbahn is more than enough! Budget hotel in an interesting location. Value for money (for Hamburg...). Super friendly staff but TINY bathroom (even smaller than a IBIS Budget bathroom...). Rooms facing Reeperbahn obviously a little noisy. It's a hotel room for people who don't want to spend too much time in their room. And why should you, the area has so much entertainment on offer.

Be prepared to climb lots of steps to get to the check in desk never mind your room. Only a bed in the room. Bathroom is extremely small and toilet, sink and shower crammed into a 4x4 area. If I knew about stairs then I probably wouldn't have booked as my wife has issues with stairs. The only positive was it's 3 minutes from then underground and other local shops

This is a 3 star hotel whose prices compete with 1 star hotels. I stayed here for 3 nights and will be returning for sure. The rooms are super clean and housekeeping is done extremely well everyday. The hotel is in a very good location, near s and u bahns as well as local nightlife and good restaurants. Main receptionist was super friendly and helpful with a really good level of English. The only slight downside I will mention was the small and practical toilet

Owful place to stay rooms very small you have to go up with your bags two floors up until you get to the reception and the another two or three floor to you room (no elevator) very noise neighborhood
