Grand Hotel des Balcons in Paris

After a long search of possible options of where to stay I found this hotel and all I can say is that I completely and highly recommend it. We were 3 and have had experiences with small rooms with very limited space but my surprise was amazing! The space was huge and had 3 individual beds well located, a huge locker to place our belongings, big bathroom with bathtub. BUT, the room had 2 small balconies :-) with a view to the Odeon theater, a total PLUS! The breakfast was the regular one but with very good taste and enough options to charge energy for a long day of touring. We really had a great time and the neighborhood is just perfect, you will be near the Sorbonne so the area is all students and alive! Luxemburg Gardens are just a few blocks away, the Phanteon, Notre Dame, Sainte Chapell and the Seine as well and if you have the opportunity, visit Rue Mouffetard, just beautiful.

Our special thanks to Camilia who was always there for us during our breakfasts and made us felt like home and to Sene on reception always wanting to be sure we had a great time.

I am coming back, no doubts. Thank you all, you are the best!!!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay.
The room was perfect, (the fan was appreciated in the hot weather!), breakfasts were great and all the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The receptionists speak perfect English, which was a big help.
The location is convenient, straddling the St Germain and Latin quarters, close to the Pantheon and university area, and 20 minutes walking distance to the river, Notre Dame etc.
I recommend the hotel unreservedly.

A very good experience. The hotel room isn't large, but it has everything you need and is very cozy. The small balcony especially offers a beautiful view of the street. Transportation is very convenient, especially the Luxembourg Gardens, which are just a three-minute walk away. It's so nice to soak up the afternoon sun there. Access to various famous attractions is also quite convenient. The Louvre is only a ten-minute walk away. The front desk was also very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.

Grand Hotel des Balcons is superbly located in the 6th - Odeon area, so close to everything, walk to Pantheon, Notre Dame, Louvre. Luxembourg palace and garden just up the road. Odeon metro just a block away. The rooms are tiny, very french, but comfortable. Staff are super lovely and very helpful. They are happy to speak English, but it's polite of visitors to greet with Bonjour. I've read other reviews, I did not experience any noise at nights. This is not the Hilton, but a very beautiful Parisian boutique hotel. I stayed 5 nights and loved it.

I believe I stayed in this hotel a few decades ago. I recently had reservations to stay there which is what this review is about. While I did not get to actually stay there, the 5 star review is for how they handled my cancelation. There was a heat wave in Paris, and France for that matter. I realized the day before arrival that they do not have air conditioning - which would not be an issue in other circumstances but in this one made staying there a safety issue for me and my children. With grace they cancelled my reservation and did not charge me a fee for it. This hotel is in a great location. I appreciate their understanding. Sometimes things just don't work out for anyone and you make the best of it.

Super clean, very kind staff. The breakfast is amazing!! No AC, and the walls are thin so you do hear a lot of movement but it’s tolerable.

Only downside is that I was on the first floor, and had to deal with the smoke of the cigarette!

Some rooms are very small!

Brilliant hotel, staff very helpful and polite, rooms extremely clean, tea,coffee and water downstairs at reception. Breakfast was very nice.
Lovely quiet area but plenty of bars. Luxemburg gardens is where the train stops (from Charles de Gaulle airport.)
15 min walk to the Louvre. Number 86 bus which is a 2 minute walk from the hotel takes you to the Effiel Tower.
First time in Paris, female solo traveller - I felt safe throughout my exploring and going back to the hotel and whilst in the hotel. Will definitely return

Amazing hotel, very delicious breakfast and friendly staff. Very clean, and comfy, close to metro and centred to all main sightseeing, highly recommended as a big traveller I was fully satisfied

Everything is great: location a couple of minutes from the Luxembourg Gardens, friendly staff, soft pillow, fluffy blanket in the duvet cover, comfortable mattress, quiet, warm. I dream of coming back, thank you!

It was wonderful! Staff is friendly and very helpful. Breakfast had wonderful variety. Only two things I didn't like: absence of soapbox and, my apologizes, toilet didn't flush out properly and I pushed that button more than once.
