Reviews
Best thing about the hotel is the area which is fantastic.
They say that is a 4 star hotel but IS NOT.
-I had the worst experience, the crew was really bad, I have a problem and they were not capable of give me solution.
-I asked to talk with the administrator, he didn’t appear in the 3 days that I staid there.
-One of the receptionist do not explain the things clearly, he dont know nothing and also they have a poor english.
-Also the room and hotel has a bad smell.
-In the night there is only one person working, so if he is not in the hall you have to wait outside to go inside.
-The laundry service its so expensive and they dont show you the prices. (It is by unit not by kg or laundry)
-They dont have a protocols or formal complaint.
-The heater in the bathroom is always turn on, you cant turn off so the room its too warm in the nigh
-there was often a terrible sewage smell in the room coming from the air conditioner I think, it smelled like a public toilet more than half the time… which is very unpleasant to say the least. Other comments had mentioned this but when booking I thought: how bad can it be? It’s very stinky . For the price you’re paying especially
-the breakfast isn’t worth it for me. Not many non processed options. Lacking some basic veggies (ex: a few slices of tomatoes or cucumber at least)
-the shower is THE WORST PART! If you are taller than about 175-180cm, you cannot use the shower as it is fixed very low (around knee height) and cannot be pulled up. And the shower handles are this weird system which is veryyy tough to turn. Stupidest shower system I have ever seen. Had I known this I would have booked another hotel.
-quite small room, could open 1 small luggage only but not more. Not enough space even for 2 small luggage. Not suited for a couple for example
-it can get quite noisy with renovations in the hotel and around it, and some cut of hot water or the elevator being too slow or stuck
-there is no fridge in the room and you have no water, must go to reception to get some water. And since no fridge, you can’t get for example a snack and keep in the fridge . And also no “basic” things which you usually have in all 4 star hotels, or sometimes at 3 stars even, like slippers, or a toothbrush or cotton pads.. I know this is not “necessary” but when you book a 4 star hotel you expect a certain level of service and quality. It’s more like a 3 STAR HOTEL.
Pros: Best thing about this hotel is the location, just next to a metro stop and can get anywhere in Paris within approximately 20-30 mins. The staff are kind and the bed was very comfortable
PRICE: I would pay about 60eur max for 1 person and 100eur max for two per night for this hotel (while in reality I paid about 200 per night for one person which is crazy expensive given the quality!!!!) Also because it’s considered 4 stars hotel, you have a higher city tax than a 3 star for example, for the state, which is about 8.4 EUR per day per person.
Overall: I don’t understand how this hotel is 4 stars. The highlight is the location, but I guess you can simply find a hotel in this area for cheaper and probably better quality for necessary amenities. It seems they put all the budget to decorate the entrance in a fancy “instagrammable” place to make it feel very cool, but overall the rooms are old with a few renovations, and you can see it’s a cheaply sloppy made job to make a buck (for example, I told the reception that there was a hole in my bathroom and some weird marks on the wall when I got in) , you can also clearly see that when you go breakfast area which is more “cool” decorated vs, the little backdoor kitchen in which they prepare the food which is like a basement with a few microwaves etc. I felt like they tried to “make it look cool” for the pictures when you book, but they don’t truly seem to care about the quality in general.
The staff is really nice and helpful.
Still, the rooms are on the smallish side but perfectly fine for a solo traveller. My room had clearly been refurbished recently, so everything looked pretty new, including the bathroom, which is a bit small but has everything you need for a short stay. There was some dust on the surfaces, so that's something that could be improved.
The bed was very comfortable and free of bedbugs (I checked after hearing so much on the news).
The only downside of my stay was that they were doing some work on the façade of the building and that was just outside my window. No issues during the weekend, but on week days the workers would start at 8 am and made quite a bit of noise. Not an issue for me as I would be up anyway at that time, but worth checking in advance if you are planning to sleep in.
