Mixed Feelings with Great Potential

During my recent week-long stay at the hotel, I experienced a mix of highs and lows that shaped a unique visit. Here are my thoughts, which I hope will be helpful for both potential guests and the hotel management.

Pros:

1. Exquisite Dining: The restaurant is truly exceptional. The culinary team offers delightful meals that rival the city’s finest. I highly recommend trying the dinner menu for a pleasant surprise!
2. Convenient Location: While not centrally located, the hotel is well-situated with easy access to key attractions, making exploration convenient.
3. Accommodating Management: The hotel manager deserves special mention for their dedication and kindness. They consistently went out of their way to assist guests, adding a personal touch to the experience.

Cons:

1. New Section Feels Disconnected: I was accommodated in a newly opened section of the hotel located in a separate building. Unfortunately, this area lacked the traditional hotel vibe and felt more akin to an Airbnb. Given the price, I believe guests might find better value elsewhere.
2. Reception Challenges: Interaction with the reception staff was often less than pleasant, marked by a confrontational attitude that detracted from the welcoming atmosphere typically expected at a hotel.

In conclusion, while [Hotel Name] has several strengths, particularly in its dining and management, improvements in staff hospitality and the integration of new sections could enhance the overall guest experience. I look forward to seeing how this hotel evolves and addresses these mixed aspects in the future.

I have mixed feelings about my stay at this hotel. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and welcoming, which helped improve our experience. However, several issues left us disappointed. First, the pictures on the website were misleading. While the metropolis was visible from the rooftop, the location itself wasn’t as romantic as it seemed online.

The room size was another drawback—they were really, really small. While that might not have been a huge issue, the cleanliness definitely was. There was noticeable fungus in the bathroom, which made us uncomfortable. We were only staying for three nights, so we didn’t focus on it much at first.

What really disturbed us happened on the last day. We had traveled all the way from the U.S. and were exhausted when we first arrived, so we didn’t check if the sheets were clean. During our stay, we spent most days exploring Athens and only realized a major issue on the final morning. As we were packing, we found bloodstains on the side of the bed where my husband had been sleeping. This blood was not ours—my husband checked himself, and I am physically unable to have periods, so it was clearly from a previous guest. It was shocking and unsettling to think my husband had been sleeping on bloodstained sheets for days. When we approached the front desk about it, the receptionist seemed skeptical, almost as if questioning if the blood was ours, which made the situation even more frustrating.

Finding someone else’s blood on our bed was not only gross but also potentially dangerous. It raised concerns about hygiene and safety that shouldn’t be overlooked.

We feel that when we approached the front desk to address what happened, the hotel should have immediately offered a sincere apology. Instead, it felt like they were questioning our account of the situation. At the very least, they should have apologized and offered some kind of compensation, whether a full refund or another gesture to make up for the discomfort. I even considered pushing for a refund, but given how uncomfortable my husband was with the whole experience, we decided to just leave.

No, I don’t recommend this hotel. And, NO! This is not a 4 stars hotel!!!!

They gave us 2 rooms outside the hotel, in a building close to the hotel, the hallway had no light, there were windows with open holes, open light boxes, graffiti. Moreover, the building looks abandoned, It scared us and it wasn't safe. There were only 5 rooms in the flat which were new and modern but we were afraid to sleep there. The rooms in the hotel were full and they could not do anything, this is not a service for a 4 star hotel since we felt cheated for paying for rooms inside the hotel, not in a close uninhabited building. We were arguing with the recepcionist 2h and finally we got a refund of 60€. I dont recommend it because that building was scary. However, the breakfast was very good with an amazing views to the Acropolis and kind waiters. It has a great location in Plaka close to Acropolis. Find attached the photos.

Bad experience in this hotel, we were accommodated in an uninhabited building 50 meters from it.
We arrived at the hotel at 9 pm, we liked the entrance and reception and the nightmare began as soon as the room was paid: the employee told us that the room was outside the hotel but that we did not worry, that it was safe. They accompanied us and our surprise was that it was an uninhabited building, without lights to climb, the broken elevator, there were no cameras ... See my photos as a test that reaffirms what I say. It was scary if you go up just because it seemed like there were squatters in the building.
Well, after 3 hours of discussion we got us to give us a 20% discount. They wanted to ignore everything and the worst of all is that a room is reserved and as they see fit you are lodged inside or outside the same hotel.
Luckily, we stayed only 1 night. The room was new but where it was was insecure. Breakfast quite well and its helpful employees. The best thing about the hotel is its location, it is located right next to the Plaka neighborhood and the Parthenon of Athens: the neighborhood is safe but it passes a main avenue where you have to be careful to cross it if you don't want to be hit by cars.
I don't recommend it, be careful with this hotel.

The hotel is really nice we booked a Acropolis view at first but they gave us a street view then they said they were sorry and gave the Acropolis view. The reservation was easy to do. And the service is great
PS: this is not a luxury hotel

The staff went above and beyond to help our family of 19 at this hotel. Special shout out to our waitress at breakfast. She was amazing. Rooms were clean and cold. Breakfast was amazing every morning. The view from the restaurant was amazing.

Great location, modern rooms, wonderful service with an amazing view of Acropolis from the restaurant. We had the family room, which was perfect with kids.

Staying here was a solid choice, offering great value for the price. The rooms are quiet, comfortable, and well-equipped with essentials like a water boiler and tea. The staff is welcoming, adding to the overall positive experience. Although the breakfast buffet boasts an impressive view of the Acropolis, the coffee was a letdown, necessitating a separate purchase.
A heads-up for future guests: some advertised services, like laundry, are not available, so the website could use an update for accuracy.
The hotel's prime location is a standout, making most of Athens' historical sights easily accessible by foot.
In summary, for the price, this place is a win, combining convenience, comfort, and prime location into a memorable stay.

I recently had a distressing experience at Acropolian Spirit Boutique Hotel, where I felt deceived and mistreated by the reception staff. Not only did they charge me 14 euros for a tourist tax fee that was supposed to be 6 euros according to my Booking reservation, but their rudeness and lack of customer service made the situation even worse. If I had the chance for a refund, I would have promptly switched to a different hotel.

Having traveled to over 20 countries and stayed in various accommodations, this has been my first encounter with such a terrible lodging experience. The rooms were significantly different from what was advertised on Booking, being cramped and poorly ventilated. The presence of a door connecting my room to the neighboring one compromised the safety and privacy of my stay.

Overall, the hotel failed to meet even basic standards. I had trouble sleeping at night due to the loud noises from the adjacent room, and the surrounding area of the hotel did not feel secure. While my experiences in Athens and with the local people were positive, the same cannot be said for the hotel. I hope this feedback serves as a warning for others and prompts improvements at Acropolian Spirit Boutique Hotel.

I strongly suspect that Acropolian Spirit Boutique Hotel has engaged in purchasing fake reviews, as the hotel does not deserve even a single star. I find it hard to believe that the overall rating on Booking accurately reflects the quality of this establishment. Unfortunately, the negative reviews from users who gave the hotel a 1-star rating seem to be accurate. I urge potential guests to read the reviews from those who rated the hotel with 1 star.

Charming hotel near everything you want to do in center of Athens. Amazing view if the Acropolis from rooftop restaurant. Staff all helpful. Breakfast is a feast...
