President Hotel

East facing rooms are exposed to the very busy street traffic and noisy. Shower needs a real shower door. You'll have water all over the floor. Not sure who's brilliant idea put a half a shower door on, but I'm sure they never used it. Rooms are fine. Laundry service is a mystery. It was supposed to be returned by 8pm. Front desk isn't very helpful in finding it. It's 10:30pm and still MIA. Breakfast buffet is chaotic. Roof top restaurant has a great very, but a hilltop blocks the Acropolis.

The welcome to the car from the lady responsible should be way better and doesn't reflect the ethos that the hotel tries to give. The bar staff was overwhelmed with ordered and got my first and second drink wrong. Ordering a lovely rum, that I returned and then I got it back right but there was cork residue in the drink. Bar staff where lovely and helpful but it's the little things that matter on that level. Overall...great view...a must if you're visiting Athens and stay in that area.

Very disappointed. Unprofessional and disrespectful management and front desk staff. As a 4 stars hotel first they should learn how to talk to the people. We had a reservation on 27-28 for a double bed and non smoking room and the room supposed to be ready at 3:00 pm, we were there at 4:30pm and the front desk ladies told me that they don’t have a double bed, they have only singles. She told me she will try to find an extra mattress to put on the top of the singles beds. And my question was “ Now you have to do that? Why you didn’t do it before we came?After 3 hours driving we have to wait more?” Then she tried to give me a very bad attitude and tried to put the blame on us because of the room we booked, and if we want to upgrade the room is €50 up charge. I said NO! I want the room I booked, and is not my fault if you don’t know how to manage your rooms. If something is wrong you supposed to contact the customer and explain. Basically if you booked more expensive room like we did the week before is ok but the time we found a deal on the website they treat you like a lower level class customers. This is such a discrimination. After being so disappointed we decided to let it go and to take the single beds. After we took the key we told everything is over, but not. They send us to some smoking, dirty room very unhealthy for non smokers people. I was so upset and I run to the front desk to find the manager to show what kind of room they give it to us. His name is Dimitris. He came with me to see the room and he apologized to us, but instead to find a nice and clean room for us because our day was already ruined, he move us to another nasty room and he walked in front of us with the cleaner and she started spraying the room with the air freshener to don’t feel the smell. When we saw that we became more upset. I never see so ridiculous things, and on top of that he offered to buy us a coffee to relax. We told him to leave because this is unacceptable. We tried to stay out as much as we can, because was hard to stay in this room. We tried to sleep after that but were so hard and we decided to leave the hotel. The room we saw on the website it didn’t mach with room they give to us. This is supposed to be a 4 stars hotel, but the room doesn’t deserve no even 1 star. Around 4:30 am in the morning we checked out. NEVER AGAIN!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!

Sorry but it’s weird af to charge paying guests to use the sunbeds at the pool. And the standard reply that it’s to “ensure all guests have equal access to this amenity” is a load of guff because a) it ensures only guests who are keen to rid themselves of 10 euro access the amenity and b) it encourages those who have paid to then stay as long as they possibly can to get their money’s worth. When I went there were only two other people there and I was still told to pay so clearly it’s about squeezing some extra pennies, which is such a false economy (given the sheer number of negative reviews and reputational damage the policy generates) that it’s laughable. There aren’t even any obvious signs in the lift or at the entrance so you have to wait to be confronted and humiliated by the teenaged security guard when you admit you don’t want to throw money away paying a grossly inflated fee for something not charged at any other hotel I’ve ever stayed at. There are other false economies at play in the hotel too, like not providing bottled water or hair conditioner in the rooms, things that might be taken for granted at other hotels as good as this one thinks it is. Rest of it was fine but this just pissed me off.
