Astor Hotel

It was a beautiful hotel in the middle of all things fun. Very central to shopping good food and sites. The downside was the head of housekeeping twice knocked on the door and immediately walked in without giving me a chance to even respond. Once while I was in the middle of changing my clothes and the following day as I was in the restroom using the facilities. Very uncomfortable. That evening I came back to my room and found a gift jar of honey was open as was a gift box of baklava. Honey was all over so I had to throw those items away.

Another downside was there was a night club nearby and the loud music was ongoing until about 5:00 am or so

I liked this hotel. From there, I could easily go to different places either by walking or using Uber/taxi.

The service was great! I loved the staff; they were friendly, helpful, and fast. We had a problem with the bathtub, and they quickly moved us to a new room.

I loved the breakfast area on top of the hotel, which offered a great view. I could see the sunrise, the Acropolis, and the overall residential areas in Athens—especially with the sound of morning bells 🔔 from the churches.

Breakfast included Greek foods with a variety of choices, all fresh and delicious.

Room: The bathtub was hard to drain (there was no handle to pull the drain stopper up). The water pressure could pull it down strongly, causing backflow and overflow onto the floor when it suddenly released.

Bath: The half-cover, either glass or cloth (European style?), made it easy for water to spill out onto the floor, necessitating cleanup after showering. This was inconvenient.

In general, I was happy with my stay and would stay there again.

Best acropolis view from rooms and smack in the nicer section for market shopping and easy access to restaurants

Service was nice. Our AC unit broke and they quickly moved us to another nice room.

Breakfast is very nice with superb view of the acropolis.

Large lobby with resting area couches etc.

Elevators are a bit small but manageable.

Astor Hotel is highly recommended for anyone visiting Athens. Its central location, close to numerous restaurants and the iconic Syntagma Square, makes it an ideal base for exploring the city. The area is lively, adding to the overall charm of the stay.

The staff were incredibly friendly, pleasant, and kind, always willing to help. Although the room felt a bit small, it more than made up for it with its cleanliness and comfort.

The highlight of our stay was definitely the breakfast on the rooftop, offering a breathtaking view of the city. Watching the sunset over the sun-kissed Acropolis was an unforgettable experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would love to return.

Great location in Athens. Only stayed for one night, room was comfortable with air conditioning. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of delicious food and drink to choose from. Great view of the Acropolis while eating.

Can't say enough good things about this place! If you're staying in Athens I'd highly recommend! Great service, friendly staff, beautiful rooms. It's also very close to the Acropolis and many other attractions, all walking distance.

This hotel is almost perfect. It is in the city centre. The metro is 3 minutes away (blue line). You arrive directly from the airport. The staff is nice, polite and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The breakfast restaurant is specifically the best breakfast restaurant in Athens with a unique view of the Acropolis. It is a miracle! Everyone speaks English.

I mean WOW. We opted for the Acropolis Frame room and I requested a double bed but upon check they told me they only had a two twin bed room available but it was "the best room in the hotel" and I was intially like yeah right I bet they tell everyone that.. but NOPE he was not lying. We truly had the best view in the whole hotel apart from the dining room on the top floor. I mean a beautiful, huge, private balcony. One of the tallest buildings around with a direct view of the Acropolis / Parthenon. It was beautiful. The room was also very comfortable. This was on the few hotels I've ever been to that had a fully functional smart TV that I could actually watch my movies on.
But the best part was that it was super conveniently located in the heart of the city. All of the main attractions were within an easy walking distance.
I would absolutely stay here again and request room 209 I think it was, again.
