Tropical Hotel

Great location, not so welcoming if you arrive before 3pm, my room was simple but with a balcony.

This hotel was 2.5 stars at best, the teeny tiny pool was a blessing for a quick cool off after the hot walk back from the beach club, and Lena in the breakfast room was AMAZING.

The highlights of the stay were that the air conditioning worked, towels were refreshed daily, beach towels were available to borrow daily and there was a small fridge in the room which was useful. They were good about letting us know that some airpods were left behind so we could collect them, which was nice.

Not 4 star

The hotel is situated along a large noisy freeway, with a city block length walk either way to a safe crossing for either public beach (left) or private beach club (right) as well as for the tram stops. There is very little in the way of shops or restaurants close by. The hotel bar was only open for a couple of hours in the evening (would have been better from 4 pm instead of 6 pm).

We booked a "standard double" room. The room was in desperate need of a refurb and the bathroom needed a thorough bleaching. The mould in the tiny little shower was grim, fittings not well secured and overall just thoroughly worn out.

We didn't have robes or slippers supplied (which were noted in room description), the safe was locked by a key you needed to ask reception for, and you had to remake your bed every night as housekeeping removed your top sheet every single time. The room was not soundproofed at all - you could hear everything in the hallway, stairs and the freeway out the front.

It was one of the worst decisions for us to booked on that hotel. Only the team are very friendly and helpful rest was very bad facilities. The pillows are too hard and high it will give to you neck pain and air conditioner are controlled by the reception. We complained several times but they didn’t changed the cooler mood and we couldn’t sleep at all. It was very hot when we visited. In the toilet exciting fan wasn’t work too. After used all the bad smells comes to your bed room and we complained nothing happened and didn’t bother to offer any other room. In that case we do not recommend at all! Sorry but it’s true! Won’t recommend to anyone. We had a room for 3 nights and no one showed up to clean it during 3 days. The reception staff was rude to everyone. The breakfast is not tasty at all and does not include a lot of choices (for a 4 stars hotel). The price is very expensive for the services available. They did not even had a towel to give us. Never felt so uncomfortable in an hotel before… for the paid price we could have easily booked a luxurious AIRNB since this hotel does not even have good services. I want to add that your photos on google fool everyone. So stay down to earth and use real pictures because what we saw is very far from your pictures on google.

A Disappointing Experience from Start to Finish!

Our family stayed at this hotel for a wedding in Athens, booking 6-8 rooms for at least 3-4 nights. Unfortunately, it was one of the worst hotel experiences we've ever had.

Given the high price of the rooms, we expected a level of service that matched. Sadly, that was far from the case. While the cleaning staff did tidy the rooms, they consistently neglected to clean the bathrooms and never replaced the trash bags—something we found unacceptable.

One of our party booked an executive room at a higher rate, but there was absolutely no difference between it and a regular room. It felt like a waste of money.

The breakfast was another major disappointment. The selection was minimal, and even though it was served until 10 a.m., if you arrived after 9:15, you’d be lucky to find anything left. The staff didn’t bother to replenish the plates, despite knowing the hotel was fully booked. For the price we paid, the lack of variety and limited portions were unacceptable.

The pool was a letdown as well. It was far smaller than the photos suggested, and access required a reservation—something we weren't made aware of beforehand.

To top it off, the reception staff was occasionally rude and unaccommodating, which only added to our frustration.

The worst part? We had booked an additional room for my parents for a 1-night stay the following week. Upon their arrival, without any prior notice, they were informed that their room had a "technical issue" (plumbing problems) and would not be available. Instead, the hotel booked them in a nearby 2-star hotel that didn’t even offer breakfast. Their solution? My parents could return to this hotel for breakfast. Offering such a poor alternative to an elderly couple was both disappointing and disrespectful.

In conclusion, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. For the price, the service and experience were far below what one would reasonably expect.
