We stayed in History! The original stonework was kept when rebuilt. Stayed in the mosaic suite, absolutely stunning, big shower, very comfortable bed ( queen +) Double glazed windows so you don't hear the night life. Restaurant underneath for breakfast which was full breakfast, yoghurt, fruit, pastries, eggs, salmon, everything you could need. Staff friendly & caring, full of helpful local places....

Ideal location, very good place, but not worth the extremely high price. Very good service, rooms are spacious and nice, but a couple of things didn’t work well. Breakfast was fine but nothing special. Would be 4-5 stars if not quite so expensive.

Staff is great and very helpful. I gave the hotel a 4 for a couple of reasons. There are no additional amenities- no food, bar, pool, or rooftop terrace. Be careful which room you book. Some rooms are a nice size with a Seaview. Others are small or dark. When you turn on the bathroom light at night the entire room lights up. Also, you have to walk with suitcases to the city gate across cobble stones

Located in the old town harbour, you can not be closer to the harbour, without your own ship. Located directly overlooking the water. The suites with terrace has sunbeds, the suites further down has balconies with room for two chairs overlooking the harbour action. Great doors n windows shut out the noice from the restaurants below when you want down time. 5-6 meters to the ceiling creates an awesome...

Into the Old Harbour area, by the sea side, an ideal place to spend one's holidays. Easy access to restaurants, bars and cafes within walking distance. The rooms are spacious, clean and are showered by the sun-light. Top class!!!

We had the most wonderful stay here! Moshe, the owner, and the staff were warm and helpful and made us feel at home. Our room, called Fabric, was a real treat . With a large window seat looking out to the beautiful harbor and famous Venetian lighthouse. It’s historical luxurious building is so well located one is practically at the heart of the city. My favourite hotel was located in Venice but I think that has now changed to the Domus Renier in the Old Harbour in Chania....

Domus Renier made Chania a special experience for us. The breakfast was incredible, the service friendly (thank you George), and the location unbeatable. The hotel staff also assisted us in booking private excursions. We will be coming back to Domus Renier next time we’re in Chania.

What an amazing hotel and experience. The decor, architecture, and attention to detail was wonderful. Staff were friendly and attentive, and more than happy to explain the history of the building and its renovation. Close to great bars and restaurants. This is one of those hotel stays you never forget.

I would highly recommend the Domus Renier in Chania, Crete. We hopped locations at the last minute due to the weather, and we are so glad we did. The location was perfect, we were walking distance from everything we needed. It was very clean and hotel is beautiful. The views from the room were incredible. I would absolutely stay again next time we are in Chania.

This hotel is absolutely amazing! The staff are excellent, the location is on the water and among all of the shops and restaurants. The building is part of a historic palace and has been remodeled. The breakfast that is included with the room is also top notch. This hotel has five stars because six is not an option. I do plan to stay here again.

We had booked the hotel for 2 nights.Unfortunately though we needed to stay only for 1 night.We called then and emailed them in time and they said on the phone that they would help to find a solution on the missed night.All they did is to to charge us as normal for 2 nights although we stayed for 1 and they didn’t even bother to manage our frustration.I’m not coming back to this hotel.

The staff is very kind and helpful. The breakfast that is included to the price is great and can keep you all day full. Everyday they change your towels and clean the room like you are new customer. The only disadvantage I can think is that is a little overpriced for what the room is, but I guess they charge the extra services that you get. I recommend to stay there for 3-4 days.

Sansal was a phenomenal stay for us to begin our honeymoon in Greece. We spent four nights here, and everything was truly outstanding. The staff were very attentive and kind. Serenissima is the perfect location for couples traveling in Crete. It has fabulous, warm and friendly staff, is well located for walking in Chania, beautiful and comfortable with delicious food.

Perfect, was a bit sceptical that we had to walk there and it wasn’t at the hotel itself, but we found that it worked very good and we ate a wonderful breakfast every day of the stay. You dont choose your own like a buffet, but that too was fine and it was enough for each of us. The breakfast might look small when it gets served, but we stayed full for hours. All in all very good.

Spectacular location, room, views, food, drinks and service. The staff and owners (including Ragis the Boston Terrier) really went the extra mile to make sure this part of our honeymoon was extra special. One of the best hotels we have stayed in, with the most wonderful view from our room. The breakfast that we ate by the pool each morning was unbelievable. Staff are incredibly friendly and always go out of their way to accommodate any request they can. Olympia to be specific made our whole stay just that extra bit special. Location was perfect 2 min walk to Harbour and centre of Old town. 5-10 min walk to bigger shops ( depends if you can resist browsing all the little shops and cafe’s on the way 😋) There is plenty to see as you stroll through the streets and the ruins of old town . Had a wonderful stay at Hotel Contessa. Beautiful, clean, spacious room and best location right on the old town harbor. Loved the small, boutique feel. Only feedback I can give is the front desk service was not super helpful or welcoming.

My wife and I stayed here for three days and had a wonderful time. The hotel is quiet, well renovated, and very comfortable. The room was quite large (especially for Europe). The hotel is centrally located in the Old Harbour, minutes away from the best restaurants and shops. Be sure to get a room with a sea view! Where can they improve? Not the best WiFi, but works okay.

We stayed there for 4 nights last week. There is no reception there. You have to check-in at El Greco down the street ! The view of the harbour is really pretty, although underneath the window is a dirty rooftop directly in front. It is incredibly noisy ! There are no waste paper bins in the room. We had to request one. They also don't use tissues or kleenex ? The AC remote didn't work . The shower...

If you want to stay somewhere that's charming and spacious, this is a great choice (room 5 at least has wonderful views of the bay). If you are looking for a big bed and a shower with high water pressure, this is not your place. Also, it can be noisy at night, since there is a 24-hour bar/club close by. So bring ear plugs!
