Beautiful setting, friendly staff, fresh food and a great family holiday: two caveats- 1) this is perfect is you have a young family and 2) much of the entertainment is geared towards French tourists; all were welcoming but French was consistently the main language and focus. This is not a 4 star hotel - it's 3 at a push. The positive points are that it's extremely well situated in Elounda which is a lovely place for a chilled quiet week in the sun with plenty of bars and restaurants (although absolutely no nightlife if you want to go out for a dance). Had an excellent massage with Maria- i had the Cretan massage and it both relieved a lot of pressure and deeply relaxed me (she had to wake me up at the end). Highly recommend. This is a great hotel situated right on the seafront across the road from the promenade and rocky seashore. The initial appearance is deceiving as the main part of the hotel is 4 floors up and set back from the road. The hotel accepts children but there's no children's activities or small pool. The hotel is in a perfect location, within walking distance to the city of Agios Nikolaos and a number of beaches. It is situated in a quiet location but also very central. Our room wasn't ready (for two people they had given us a room with 5 beds!). They gave us another room number 311. A real scandal, impossible to take a shower, the shower head is in the bathtub and the bathtub is very small. I am 1.53m tall and weigh 65kg, impossible to turn around without flooding everything. Comfortable and clean rooms, friendly staff and great location. My friend and I stayed for a week, and enjoyed our stay. Great views and beautiful outdoor areas. The standard of the rooms varies significantly and it is random what kind of room you will get. The room was clean but worn and the view was limited. Pool areas are clean and beautiful. Food is ok but made for a large crowd. Snacks in the pool areas are poor: only donats, small pies and some times watermelon. Rooms looked great in the photos but in real life they are a bit dated. We got "upgraded" to a villa that didn't have any views or charm. In general - suites and the villas are wildly overpriced 30-50% off they would be at a fair value.

Great hotel complex. Fabulously clean. Really well maintained with friendly and polite staff. Food areas were immaculate with a good range of food. We were there for the last week of the season so a few amenities were not open. If we had paid full price then we would have been a bit miffed. If you are you going on the water slides use a ring or lilo. The joins on the slides rip you to bits!

Excellent staff and great hotel rooms and food but the standard of alcoholic drinks was terrible. Wine was draught and undrinkable and the only red wine was very chilled. Also the spirits were barely alcoholic and the lager tasteless. This is a great shame as the overall standard of hotel and food was excellent. However I don’t expect to buy in my own wine and beer at an all inclusive hotel.
