Excellent service, excellent accommodation,excellent food. Wonderfull views, spacious room large pool and private beach with all the water sports required

The Good: - The private beach has crystal-clear water and because of the location being in a bay, despite wind, there are no waves at all, which is ideal for toddlers - The kids pool is perfect for toddlers - The kids club is very moden and offers great activities for little kids (toddlers can be dropped off for a charge) - Nice choice of good restaurants

Absolutely the most wonderful property- beautiful beach, well-maintained and beautifully renovated rooms, excellent food and excellent, personal service. I’ve returned multiple times and will keep going back.

Evening buffet even better, changed everyday with multiple choices plus multiple exceptional a la carte restaurants Italian il Borro, Japanese Sumosan, and the yacht club

No crowds, no queuing, no hassle polite friendly ‘family’ team , no worries only a chilled out paradise

The Porto Elounda is part of the Elounda Collection, which consists of three hotels (the others are Elounda Mare and Elounda Peninsula) and the hotels share some facilities as well as the restaurants

I found the staff extremely helpful. Not anything super amazing, but plentiful and full of variety. Plus I could make my own tea which made me happy. The bottle of wine they gave us was delicious

Overall, the hotel could use some renovation; you can feel the passage of time in the rooms. The service is very good, and the view is superb. The pool is inviting for activities but less so for relaxation

We stayed in this hotel during the shoulder season when it was 5 days from closing down for the season. They upgraded us from a 1 bedroom suite to a 2 bedroom suite

I was blown away with the fantastic private pool, the balcony view and the amazing room. They also had air condition that worked really well. Keep in mind, I was there end of October so the AC was not really needed

Unfortunately, in my opinion, the water is too cold. It was more comfortable to swim in the sea than in the pool. The hotel is slightly off the beaten path, so having a car is recommended

Their beach was lovely and since there was no one there in the morning until 10:30 AM, I felt like I was on a private beach. They have a dive shop and the water is perfectly clear

We had a private pool and beach access which was WONDERFUL! The view of the sunrise was unforgettable! We also went to the spa and experienced the pool, saunas and steam room (A+ experience)

Great location, lots of water sports, and nice staff but the above list is not what you expect at this price point, and is a so-called 5-star resort

Incredible experience! This was an amazing property and the service, along with the amenities were great from start to finish! My husband and I went to Elounda on the third leg of our island hopping honeymoon and we most definitely saved the best for last! We were warmly greeted with drinks and snacks upon arrival as well as a bottle of champagne in our room (as well as the traditional honey and nuts

A superb hotel, from the Elounda collection of Maré, Porto and Peninsula. Manolis, the manager and his super friendly team always make us feel great, on arrival and while we stay

Every little detail was thought of, down to a heart shaped door mat in front of our room. They also had a private breakfast delivered for us in our room the first morning

There is also a huge golf course and a lot of activities like jet ski and boat trip. All the staff are extremely kind and respond to any request immediately. I highly recommend and I hope to be back there soon!

I think you have to accept this happens everywhere but if you're made aware of it before booking then you have the option to change your plans. We stayed in a deluxe seaview bungalow with heated pool

Our accommodation was kept immaculate throughout, the coffee and tea replenished. I think for the price you pay and the 5 star status, fresh milk should have been provided in the fridge, we bought some in the village

The same goes for around the pool, the shades are fixed and small. I was disappointed that you weren't able to swim in the pool before 10am. I would have liked a swim prior to breakfast

Every meal was incredibly delicious… and every person we encountered was so helpful and kind- from the general manager to the food and beverage manager… the executive chef and Maria who served us each morning

I'd seen mention of it on previous reviews so my travel agent contacted the hotel prior to my arrival and our bungalow was the furthest away and we were not hindered by it

Comfortable, well equipped, and perfectly clean. The sea view was fantastic, overlooking the swiming pool and the coast. Our room was in a good state of renovation

The amount of choice, the freshness and the way food was presented was fantastic! The amount of Greek, Mediterranean and European foods on offer is very extensive and different every day at the two a la carte restaurants and also the the buffet

The (artificial) sand beach is quite small, but was enough for the number of guests at the time. Terraces with comfortable sun loungers next to the beach. I had a bungalow with sea view

While this is attractive regarding setting and views, it might be unsuitable for persons with reduced mobility. The hotel is in quite some distance from the next town

I see this as a consequence of the spacious setting in a pretty landscape. 50 minutes walk to Elounda town center, no bus connection. All staff is very friendly and helpful

For example, we found the mattress too hard, this was not a problem, they immediately fitted a topper. On arrival, we were upgraded to a deluxe room with steam room and Jacuzzi bath and more floor space

I've travelled to some incredible places in my life, but very few have come close to my recent trip and stay at this beautiful hotel in Elounda. I could write a book not a review

There is a choice of 2 beaches. The larger of the 2 has a nice bar, next the watersports area. This aerves snacks and drinks during the day. Make sure you see the guys who work the beach on your first day

Review of Elounda Bay Hotel, Crete Nestled in an idyllic setting, Elounda Bay Hotel boasts stunning, calm beaches perfect for swimming and a selection of inviting pools

There is an indoor swimming pool and gym right near the beach. The only downside for us was that it was just over an hour away from the airport costing around 100euro

As outlined in other reviews there are undoubtedly areas of the hotel which could be improved to make it perfect but our overall experience was very good

I personally don’t like shared pools, not that I don’t like sharing, it’s just that because I am on the Autistic spectrum, I like my own pool. That aside, it was a really relaxing, fun, and enjoyable week away

Also all the staff in every area of the hotel and in particular Nikos who arranged a room change for us and Kostas in the restaurant made a difference with their friendly helpful customer orientated service

MICE team, fb team, receptionist, houskeeping. All of them made us feel likes part of a big family and they reserve a big THANK YOU! We can't wait to work with them again and we will!!

Fantastic resort in the Olive groves, with spectacular views on to Spinalonga island! Exceptional service at all the restaurants. Really warm and helpful staff at the Haute Living, especially Lily & Eleni

Water sports, water taxis and excursions are available. A stand out feature here is the excellent level of service by all the staff in all areas, particularly the Blend restaurant and pool

The house-keeping staff were lovely. Highlight for us was the kids club, led by Eleni and her wonderful team! Our daughter ran in every day-the absolute best we’ve ever experienced!

If you visit Crete, Domes of Elounda is a “must stay”! From arrival to departure we were so impressed with this resort. The facility is beautiful and the accommodations were spacious and welcoming

The hotel is very beautiful, the hotel has its own swimming pool. And some rooms have their own private swimming pool

From room you can have a beautiful view of the sea, you can see the sunrise, you can see the mountains. Room setting is also very cute, daily cleaning. The workers are also very nice and friendly

A well kitted out gym, pool, three restaurants, tennis court, and carts to transport you around. We’d love to stay again sometime

Minor comment the room is small and towards the unmodernsied - bathroom is not comfortable to use as the water goes everywhere and closets are dysfunctional

As a solo traveller I was made to feel incredibly welcome at all times and treated with an abundance of warmth - nothing was too much to ask! I also have a nut allergy and I have to say the hotel went above and beyond - chef (what a guy!) came and gave me a tour every evening to let me know what I could and could not eat (there was not much I could not eat!) and he even made me special bread 😊 all...

The private pool in every room is a unique feature which affords you your own space and privacy. Cayo comes with all the trimmings and they have their own beach which is a few minutes walk away

The perfect place to relax and feel Cretan hospitality. The hotel is amazing, they offer sea view and private pools for all rooms. The crew makes you feel as a guest and not as a customer

Super accommodating and very friendly staff. The facilities are really beautiful and the view from the rooms is breathtaking. Food was really nice as well and we ate at the resort daily

This very special villa/suite hotel is like a corner of paradise. We had a villa with its own infinity pool, it was luxurious and very private. The facilities are great, with a main pool and comfortable sun beds

The beach club is perfect with a minibus on hand to take you to and from the hotel. However, what really makes this place special is the staff. They cannot do enough for you and are exceptional

Everything is provided for the comfort of guests. The views are spectacular and the grounds well kept and attractive. Don’t worry about the hill, golf buggies are on hand to run you around

Elounda itself is utterly charming with a range of shops and fabulous restaurants. It is walkable (about 30 mins downhill) but get one of the very smart Mercedes taxis back - 11 euros

The breakfast is incredible, from smoke salmon to fabulous fruit platters, a huge range of bread and pastries and plenty of hot options; even do it yourself mimosas

A special mention to the guys at the bar — their service was exceptional and truly made our experience unforgettable. Thank you for the amazing hospitality!

Very cool, there is a pool, games are played for both children and adults) The food is just waste, but different nutrition conditions are different for different bracelets (. I only stayed positive, I recommend.

Beautiful setting, friendly staff, fresh food and a great family holiday: two caveats- 1) this is perfect is you have a young family and 2) much of the entertainment is geared towards French tourists; all were welcoming but French was consistently the main language and focus

We arrived early hours and were given food and refreshments which was great. Pools These are all salt water, goggles will be needed

That said, you cannot fault the location and true Hellenic welcome from the hotel staff

The pool area by the main eating area is described as adult only but they do allow children on there and it was a fab area to relax as in the children could touch the bottom etc

I would like to say we are a fit healthy family but the walk down and back to the children's pools was a killer so after the 1st day we decided to just stay around the top pool

If we had paid full price then we would have been a bit miffed. If you are you going on the water slides use a ring or lilo. The joins on the slides rip you to bits!

Amazing hotel and it is very family oriented, the staff were exceptional ( Georgia, Ismail from the hotel , TUI staff ( Louis and Stasha ), plenty of pools and very excellent water slides, the food was delicious and the main restaurant location and view is awesome

What a fabulous week we've had. Just using the free courtesy room to freshen up before the coach trip to the airport then back to the UK. Great food. Great refreshments. Great pools. Amazing staff. I can't fault it.

There are two lovely pools, fresh food and drink at both sites and happy staff to encourage sport activity in the day. The restaurant is fully stocked with beautiful food and fruit

The staff were all wonderful - all reception staff couldn't do enough to help you, Albert was great collecting and taking our luggage, restaurant staff were welcoming and friendly, Vasilikis who ran the pool bar in the day was always smiling and friendly and Simos who ran the bar in the evening knew what we drank and looked after us every evening

Great little place,hills and steps to contend with,so bear this in mind if booking,but they do have a golf buggy and are more than happy to assist you up and down driveway as long as you communicate with them,nice breeze around pool which is much needed with the heat,food was amazing,no complaints

Gregory the bartender was another notable member of staff, as well as the manager, who was always on hand to help. Overall the staff really make this place feel special. The views from this place were incredible

The rooms are lovely and spacious, superior rooms have a much bigger balcony. There is a restaurant in site which is nice and roof top cocktail bar is superb. Spiros the bar tender is such a pro

Just finished staying at the Akti Olous for a week as a solo traveler. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable with daily cleaning available if you wished it

We stayed here again as last year was amazing. It’s bed and breakfast and the breakfasts are excellent

He was also quite disinterested when taking you food/drink order and was more concerned at waving at passing people/motorists to get them to come into the bar/restaurant rather than making those in their feel welcome

When we arrived we were shown tp our room which was like a broom cupboard with no view from yhe balcony, but how lucky the had a better room they could. offer us at an additional €40 per night, very convenient

It has its own small beach with a limited d number of beds, we're early risers so getting a bed wasn't a problem. Some people are still reserving beds but overall, it's not much of an issue

the pool itself needs a good clean - there's a green around the water beds. On a plus note - Nico the barman is a sweetheart - always smiling and helpful. This hotel needs some money spent on it's maintenance

The chef welcomed guests and recommended dishes. The pool area is attractive, with comfortable sunbeds. I can imagine in high season the availability will be limited as they all were occupied when we visted

The hotel is lovely, but there aren’t enough sun beds to provide one for everyone, also some people enjoying the pool weren’t actually staying at the hotel making sunbed problems worse, one group were also bringing their own alcohol to the poolside which went unchallenged

The pool does get busy but we were always able to find somewhere to sit. Breakfast had plenty of choices, hot and cold, with a very friendly chef who enjoyed explaining what traditional dishes were available

The hotel is two minutes walk from the waterfront which is full of great restaurants at reasonable prices

we ended up eating out every night so we felt that we'd wasted money going Half Board. Pool is lovely but very tired, we both got splinters from the decking as it's breaking up
