Reviews
It is a very beautiful hotel, the beach was wonderful and so was the surrounding area. The pools were renovated and look amazing!! There aren't enough sunbeds for everyone and many guests seem to "reserve" sunbeds by simply placing their towels on top for the whole day.
If anyone is actually reading this review, I would propose to place a sign that sunbeds can't be reserved. Not everyone is there at the same time. Another splution could be baskets for towels and personal belongings. Add a basket near each umbrella, if the sunbeds aren't occupied but there are towels and personal things on them, people can put them in the basket and use the sunbeds. Put up a sign explaining the purpose of the baskets and that sunbeds cannot be reserved.
The staff in the whole hotel was extremely friendly, understanding and competent. We are very happy with the service, thank you so much!
Each night there would be live music, once there was a live magic show. Usually these events last for 2 hours from 9pm to 11pm.
The all-in was limited, we think it makes sense when it comes to alcohol but this also applies to other drinks like some coffees were included, some were not. At the end we were disappointed that we had to pay to weigh our luggage. It doesn’t cost them anything for people using the scale, it’s a shame and embarrassing that they ask people money for such a simple service.
Then, we have seen our room, which is far away from the pictures presented on the page, big disappointment there, all of the things were very old, visible dust and dirt especially under the beds and desk/ table.
After that, we went to the lobby bar, hoping to have a nice drink and enjoy the view. However, the quality of the drinks served in cheap, old and way overused plastic cups were just below any criticism, it wasn't drinkable besides very low variety of drinks, some of them like mohito are for a fee.
Then comes the dinner, where you are faced with extremely small food selection room, where people were squeezing and stepping on each other, with extremely low warm food variety (never seen just 4 or 5 warm dishes to choose from, plus only rice and French fries as a carbs. No boiled potatoes, or baked/roasted). There was mainly fish plus pasta bolognese and fried nuggets, I guess you can forget about any steak/ roasted beef, or beef in any other form, not even mentioning veal, lamb, duck or rabbit. It is simply not that level.
On the positive side, we were positively surprised with new and good looking front pool with new sun beds and umbrellas. Breakfast was also a strong point with typical eggs, bacon, sausages, good quality bread, jams, nutella, honey, and most importantly fresh juices that are actually tasty, totally opposite to the juices from the lunch / evening bar which are totally artificial and disgusting.
All together, we will not come back to this place and definitely not recommend.
Welcome to the CRETE
