Trefon Hotel Apartments and Family Suites

This was our first time staying at this hotel, and it did not disappoint. It's situated on a private road that leads down to the beach, and the hotel has a large car park on the opposite side of the road. Our apartment had air conditioning, and we definitely needed it. Temperatures were 38° most days. The pool was lovely and the staff were friendly at the pool bar. We never ordered food from here, but it looked lovely. At the end of the road, towards the beach, is another pool and bar that leads straight onto the beach. The hotel also has access to this pool for free. The beach was lovely and there were chairs and parasols on the beach to rent. We stayed by the pool but were told €8 for 2 seats and 1 parasol for the whole day. The cleaning staff were very noisy one day and were shouting at each other very early in the morning. The rest of the days, they were quiet. Our apartment was on the ground floor and had a balcony facing the car park. Doesn't sound great, but it was lovely and quiet, and there's a privacy screen around the balcony for sunbathing and sitting at the table and chairs having breakfast. We sat most nights on there playing cards and the atmosphere from other hotels around, with live singers and bands was lovely. At the other end of the road is where you'll find the local supermarket and the main strip with all restaurants, bars, and souvenir shops. There's no need for a car here. Lidl supermarket is a 5/10 minute walk away, depending on how fast you walk. If you want to go on a trip or excursion, at the top of the road, you can purchase an excursion to Chania or Heraklion for €14, pick up and return. Along the main strip, in the opposite direction to Lidl is a place where you can play crazy golf. We had a really fun night here!

Lovely hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Ideal location a couple minutes walk to beach one way and shops the other. Plenty of choice for restaurants. Several have small play areas for little children. Good supermarket close by and Lidl a short walk. Buses available but taxis into Rethymnon around 12-14 euros. Small pool with use of another pool by the beach. Buckets and space available to use so you don't have to buy just for the week.

We stayed at the Trefon for a week in June and had the studio apartment. It was spacious for a studio and very clean and comfortable. The room is a little dated but we didn’t mind that considering the service/staff. The hotel itself is lovely with a small pool to cool off. There is a luggage room in the hotel with a shower so if you have a late flight you can leave you luggage, spend the day at the pool/beach and then freshen up before your flight. A great location to explore the local area with a number of restaurants and shops within an 5 minute walk. Rethymno is only 10/15 min by taxi or a 25 min bus ride and a 2 minute walk to the local beach. The staff here are lovely, friendly and always ready to help. The night manger Robert was friendly and helpful. As were the other mangers but we didn’t get to enter act with them as much. The barman, Padalecki (apologies for the spelling) is a real benefit to the hotel. Friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Having his cocktails, ice cold beers and spending the evening talking is the best way to end the day. This is a definite recommendation and I hope to return in the very near future.

This being our 3rd year of going to these apartments shows how much We love this place.
Accommodation is comfortable, staff are amazing and very friendly, the breakfast food is good although it isn’t very hot sometimes, could do with a microwave in the dinning area so you could warm it up yourselves.
Apart from that I can’t fault this place.
Mum got admitted to hospital at the end of our holiday so had to stop there nearly another week, I was allowed to keep our room on, the staff were brilliant with me and asked after Mum every day.
Can’t wait to return in 2025

Minutes from the beach and high street shops. Spacious, modern rooms. Well maintained. Very neat & clean. Friendly staff. Will definitely come back here. About an hour away from the airport but well worth the journey.

From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble, we only booked for one night as we were attending a wedding in the area, we arrived very early and were still booked into our room without any hassle at all, my Wife asked if there was anywhere she could get her hair and nails done locally (an after thought on the day) she was told to go just into the local town and maybe one of the few salons would be able to help, she found the first salon was more than happy to help on short notice, I decided to stay at the hotel and wait, which I did at the pool bar where I spent an enjoyable hour or so with Maria, a very friendly Barmaid, waitress, cook and general ambassador for the hotel. The receptionist, a very friendly and accommodating young lady (I believe her name was Joanna) arranged for a Taxi for us to get to the wedding and off we went. The following morning we went for breakfast and met Maria again who was busy keeping people happy constantly bringing out fresh food and clearing tables. Overall a very pleasant place to stay.

Lovely apartment with balconies overlooking the pool and a beautiful view of the sunrise. The beach was a very short walk away and was lovely. We were self catering, but couldn’t resist the breakfast and the lady hosting was so friendly and helpful. The reception staff were equally helpful- even posting my phone home when I left it behind on our last day. Easy transfers from the airport and bus tickets available in the supermarket for simple travel along the coast.

What a lovely hotel- breakfast is not to be missed- every day there are special delicacies on offer. The pastries are not to be missed! The bar is lovely around the pool. Nice touches in the kitchen - drying up towel, washing up liquid and a cloth. Well Established Plants and Bourgonvilla really make the place special

Spacious room, with good service. Very near the beach. It has a reasonable price as well. Great job team Trefon
