Disappointing for an NH Hotel.

Couldn’t sleep first night for two reasons: one, the room was like an oven and trying to change the temp was impossible (more on this in a moment), and two, there are two super bright “security” lights by the door which are activated on a motion sensor. So if one person uses the washroom at night, everyone wakes up.

I reported both of these issues to the front desk.

Regarding climate, I was advised the temperature is controlled by the front desk???? I’ve never ever heard of this. And why not let me know about the temperature setting at check-in?????

Second, upon my return to the hotel, I was told the lights attached to the motion sensor were covered with tape- a lie. I had to go down to reception once again to complain. They apologized, and assured me the lights were covered… and they were, kind of. You could still see the lights, a little.

Anyway, temperature was better and the second night, I slept well.

Aside from that, the furniture was tired and worn. And the old bathtub featured globs over globs of caulking. Bed was comfy.

As for breakfast, it was decent. Good selection of cakes, croissants, fruit, (real) scrambled eggs and bacon, cheese, and cuts.

Upon checkout, while friendly, I was advised of a 22€ charge for two drinks from the previous evening. However, with the issues I had on the first night, I’d have expected that these two drinks would have been comped… at the very least. Not so.

Bottom line: For 350€ - 400€ a night, there are far better choices in Milan.
